Hi Gia

I was hoping you might have some recomendatins I could pass on to a dear friend of mine who is suffering from some "unknown" eye issue.

Her right eye is VERY red and irritated. She developed bumps on the white part of her eye. Dr.s said it was due to swelling. Something about the swelling coming through the tissue of the eye and creating the bumps. The bumps were in a cluster, three of them. Slightly yellowish or off white in color. They have her taking antibiotic eyedrops. They seemed to have cleared up the bumps, but the issue still persists. Now she has developed a bump on the iris of her eye. Her vision in the eye is much weaker now than the eye that isn't effected. When she tries to read for any extended period of time the eye starts to water pretty heavily and also throbs. She is also extremely light sensitive.

The docotors don't know what's wrong with her. The eye doesn't seem to be responding to antibiotic treatment, as it has now been almost 4 weeks since the onset of her issue.

I suggested to her that she start taking vitamin A suppliments and zinc. I know a little about homeopathy, but not nearly as much as you seem to.

Whacha think?

Your in Luck!
Synchroncity again!!

I had the same problem years ago. Antibiotic drops are used for this condition and also steriod drops as well. It is mainly caused by dryness and irritation of the sclera - the white of the eye. Look in peoples eyes more closely you'll notice these yellow little deposits especially the the more mature. If the eyes are dry / irritated these will swell a little and become more noticable. Sometimes the little blood vessels will break causing redness and discomfort too.

This does NOT occur when the eyes are properly hydrated. Get her some eye drops for severe dry eyes. Tell her to use them at least four times a day. The do not harm you and can be used as often as needed. NO VISINE, OR OTHER REDNESS REMOVERS PLEASE. If she wears contacts, see if she can remove them for awhile. This condition is not improved by steroids on a long term basis. In fact on a long term basis they can cause really bad problems. If the eye becomes irritated it will get like this again. I do not wear contacts anymore I had Lasik 7 years ago. I still use eye drops now and again. I drink more water now as well. Plus I take supplements to support my eyes.

The opthamologist/doctor cannot tell you exactly what causes this because it's basically iiritation. The bumps may never completely disappear, though they will go down and become less noticable. Wear sunglasses in windy conditions. Also might be worth checking her Thyroid T4/ T3 which can also often cause changes in the eyes.

I hope she's gone to an EYE DOCTOR and not just a general practitioner for a PROPER EYE EXAMINATION. He would have explained this to her and also checked her eye pressure which is very important indeed.

Oh yes, I'm a great believer in supplements. They have been shown to stop serious eye conditions getting worse. Forget Longs, and Rite Aid. Sorry folks, but the concentrations in those are almost totally useless. A little bit of lutein and bilbury, are not enough to ensure good strong eye health. We used to think years ago, only 60mg of bilbury was enough - guess what? Studies now tell us the optimal amount is 320mg, more than five times as much!!! To get the benefit of lutein you need it's full antioxidant protection. To support the macula and retina at least 15mg. I think I should make it clear we are talking
MILLIGRAMS not MICROGRAMS.
I gone through loads of vision supplements over the years. The best I've come across is one called "VISION ESSENTIALS" CALL TOLL FREE ON: 1800 722 8008. Like anything else you pay for quality. Approx $160 for 6 months supply. It's worth every single penny. I'd rather spend my money keeping myself healthy and worry about the new outfit, car, dress etc. etc... at a later date.

Please make sure she has had a proper examination, and have her T4 and T3 tested. Check it all out with her own doctor. As sometimes second hand information is never complete.

Thanks for quick reply! She is seeing a doctor at some eye institute in Portland. She doesn't have medical insurance, so this is all out of pocket so far. I let her know that you feel she should have her thyroid checked.

She wanted me to mention to you that she is in the Army and was vaccinated with Anthrax and Small Pox in January of '03 (while she was pregnant with her youngest child).

On another note... my dad has Retinitis Pigmentosa. He has used bilbury and found it has somewhat slowed down his loss of vision. Is there anything you might know about suppliments for RP?

Thanks so much for your help. My friend and I really value your input.

Yes, I know an awful lot about RP actually. Another synchronous thing!!!!!

My own father was diagnosed with it years ago and went totally blind. He now has 20/20 vision in one eye and partial vision in the other. Although the partial vision eye is still hazy.

Read my posts to Philbird. I told her my fathers story, and about the struggle it took to gain his eyesight back. He needs to take the supplements I mentioned to you A.S.A.P. Please know bilbury on it's own, is not enough. I need to know a few more things before we continue on this subject.

Is he the only member of your family to have this condition?

Has he had it from childhood?

Is it in both eyes, or just one, at the moment? The reason I ask is it could be in one and later the other.

Has he had nerve function measured?

Any other related macular problems such as cataracts?

General health?

Is he Diabetic?

How old?

Let me know and I'll help all I can.

Gia

I can't believe your friend was vaccinated with polio and ANTHRAX whilst pregnant. Was she ill afterwards, or noticed anything strange, skin wise or fever wise?

Is he the only member of your family to have this condition?

He is the only living relative. His mother's brother had it also, but he died (and was completely blind) about 15 years ago.

Has he had it from childhood?

As far as I know he has. As early as I can remember, he's always been night blind to some degree.

Is it in both eyes, or just one, at the moment? The reason I ask is it could be in one and later the other.

He's got it in both.

Has he had nerve function measured?

I want to say yes... but I'm a little unsure. I know he has had many appointments with many different specialists.

Any other related macular problems such as cataracts?

Thankfully, no.

General health?

His general health is better now than it has ever been. Since he's lost his driver's licence he walks and rides his bike everywhere. He's in great shape. He eats a lazy vegetarian diet (which sometimes includes fish).

Is he Diabetic?

Nope.

How old?

49

Thanks so much for taking the time to think of my dad and friend. Really. Thank you so much!!!

Gia... I thought just in case, I'd add his chart info for you.

Cancer Sun
Leo Moon
Cappy Asc.

Pluto, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus all in Leo
Neptune in Libra
Satturn in Scorp
Mars and Mercury in

BTW ... what string is the story of your dad found in? I can't find it.

Baby and mama seem to be okay from the vaccines. Since she was in the military, she wasn't given a choice... it's take the vaccine our get booted out. She has some concernes about the anthrax mostly. She can never give blood because she is walking around with anthrax running through her veins.

Vaccines are voluntary--even for international travel, school attendance, and military. If anyone has any trouble, contact me for assistance. In the military, you have to voice your opposition before you sign your enlistment papers.

Really Randall? Even in the military? From the way she told it, she would have gotten a dishonerable discharge for refusing the vaccine... even though she was 8 weeks pregnant. She said the woman in charge at the time seemed a real shrew and really didn't care that she was pregnant.

If you have any info I can pass on to her regaurding this kind of nonsense, please let me know.

She has considered contacting the CDC now because the military won't allow her (please excuse my ignorance to military procedure) LOD (line of duty, i think) even though this problem manifested while she was away for her routine weapons qualification something-or-other.

... just re-read your post... BEFORE YOU SIGN THE ENLISTMENT PAPERS... I'm sure she didn't do that. It's so sad. These people join the military at such a young age... they don't know their rights or how to protect themselves. I wish the military would treat it's people better. They are our protectors... they diserve decent medical care, and MORE MONEY!!

Libra Spring,

The posts are on PURPLE PLATE DISHARMONY.

It's almost midnight here and my eyes are closing. Late night last night too!

I don't think the eyes are related to the Anthrax. Though I'm not delighted with that at all.

I'll get back to you later hon. I promise.

Gia,

So, your dad had an operation?

I told my dad about lutein, and he said he has tried suppliments, but they are upsetting to his stomach. I suggested we find out which foods are high in lutein so he can take it in through food rather than suppliments.

From the tiny bit of searching I've done, I've found spinach is rich in lutein. Can I assume all green leafy veggies are as well?... like kale?

My dad still has some vision, but it is slowly deteriorating. I worry about him out riding his bike with practically no peripheral vision. He is very independant and refuses to rely on me for grocery shopping, unless there is something heavy he has to pick up that he cannot carry on his bike... last time was a 20 pound bag of charcoal.

He really is quite physically healthy, dispite his lazy diet that often consists of meat free fast food like Taco Bell bean burritos. He has trained himself to go on a 30 mile bike ride about once a week.

I've tried to convince him to learn to read braille, just in case... but I think that makes it seem to real to him, so he is resistant to the idea.

I cry for my dad sometimes, although I'd never let him know it. He would feel guilty knowing his issues bring me grief, and probably stop talking to me about it. My heart breaks for him when I think of what it might be like for him to be completely blind in the near future. I've already decided I'd take him in and have him live with me when and if this does happen... although I think he might resist at first.

He is a single dad of two teenagers. (He's actually my step-dad). My brother and sister are 15 and 18. He is living on Social Security and supporting my siblings with no help from my mother what-so-ever . They live in a two bedroom dive, although it's not in the bad part of town... at least there's that

If my dad could get his vision back, he could get a job again... drive again... SEE again!

I've really got my hopes up now. I feel a bit uplifted knowing there *might* be a way to bring back his vision.

Hi Gia...

I just talked to my dad...

He wanted me to let you know that his two sister's also have RP, but their cases are mild and they aren't likely to lose their sight.

He also wanted me to tell you that he has not had any nerve testing done.

He also laughingly told me to pass on to you that he's a vegetarian who doesn't always eat very many vegetables... silly head that he is

I need to talk to you at length about this as I need to ask some other perhaps more private things.

His diet is TOTALLY CRUCIAL to his sight. I'm sorry to be a bully, but it is TRUE. His supplements can be taken on a full stomach after food, to avoid feeling sicky, or funny. He can sit and eat non - stop all day and still not get anywhere near the concentrations he requires. The minerals are no longer in sufficient quantities in our soil. So they are no longer in our food.

Vitamin B complex is essential to the maintenance of optic nerve function. The retina contains one of the highest concentrations of zinc which is necessary for visual pigments. Bilberry extracts are assosciated with the retina and the lens of the eye. Lutein Esters, the best kind are extracted from marigolds - how many of those does he pick and eat each day? These combined with zeaxanthin maintain and stablise macular vision.

It is important that his natural children start protecting their vision NOW by taking supplements to prevent macular degeneration. RP is considered a form of macular degeneration. Retinitis Pigmentosa may not be prevented from manifesting. However, pigment in the retina can be stablised, and sight may not be totally lost. It does seem to run in families, although it can jump whole generations. In my fathers case, he was the only one in the family to ever manifest this. Well to our knowledge anyway. We were all tested including myself.

We talk about how nutrition is CRUCIAL. The only hope of a treatment as far as "Big Boys"
are concerned is a very promising eye drop undergoing trials as we speak. it's made of high concenrations of guess what? SPINACH!!!
Funny that, isn't it?

Vitamin A is also essential - it can replace the visual purple. all these can be found in the supplements I mentioned. If they are too expensive go to Rite Aid and get a brand called VISONACE about $22.00 They are the next best thing. Also very good for your sisters and friend in the military. The concentrations are not as high. I would double up myself. Though he must decide. Surely he can take one tiny pill?

Tell your father also, that athletic ability does not always equal health. NOT AT ALL!!

Many famous athletes concentrate on stamina and forget about what goes on inside. Sadly they drop dead in their very early years mainly from heart disease or other complications. I can tell you from experience that most of our heart attack patients had no symptoms of high cholestrol or anything abnormal at all. What is the purpose of looking fab and fit on the outside and sick on the inside?

Please, he's only 49 years old. He must start LOOKING at the facts. Do you have a purple plate at all? That may help to turn him around. Try the paper remedies also. Of course he'll think you've gone out your mind, print the stuff out and leave it for him to read. With your consent and his, I can start trying to work on him energetically from here. I WILL ONLY DO THIS IF HE CONSENTS. It will be bad for all concerned if you consent for him. Do you understand Libra Sparkle?

Lots of always, Libra Sparkle.

You have a lot of light around you. That is why I was so interested in your choice of name. It really suits you. I think you've probably been told this before.

Gia.

Consider yourself hugged, sweet Gia.

I will speak to my dad today to get his specific consent. He's one of my best friends. I know him well, and am positive he will give his consent.

I'm adding my personal email address for you. Please let me know when you have it jotted down so I can come back and remove it.

I bumped this for yor you Shelia. Please feel free pass it on to Linda. The supplementation advice is also valid for her. I'm away and will be back around the begining of July.
