After starring at the computer screen for half an hour, looking for the most affordable yet worth buying cotton underwear, I give up. My eyes are tired. I'm thinking Hanes or Fruit of the Loom will do but what do you think? What would you recommend to be genuine cotton, made in USA underwear? ------------------ "Know thyself" Inscribed on the temple of Apollo at Delphi IP: Logged |

OK. Let me put it this way. I want to buy COTTON underware for HEALTH reasons. I'm thinking Fruit of the Loom or Hanes. Does anybody wear underwear for medical purposes? What brand or department store would you recommend? Thank you!------------------ "Know thyself" Inscribed on the temple of Apollo at Delphi IP: Logged |

Yin, Since I thought you were a guy, I was going to suggest the brands you mentioned, plus trying a pair of woman's bikinis. Support for "the boys" However, since you are a woman, I will suggest buying mens' bikinis or boxers. For a couple reasons.1. Hanes and Fruit of The Loom are very common brands in larger dept. stores, not because of their quality, but they can be mass produced very inexpensively. Stores keep them on the racks religiously, so you always know they will be at the store whenever you need them. You may think they are always there because of their quality and that's why the store always stocks them. Not true! 2. Women's F.O.L. and Hanes are of much poorer quality then the men's version. This is because men do not shop as often as women, and will wear them long after their "due date". Women on the other hand spend more money on any type of clothing than men do, because they wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of undies that were anything less than perfect. That has to do with that saying your mother always told you, "Don't forget to wear clean underwear in case you have to go to the hospital" (or for un-expected romance or sex). Don't think manufactures do not keep this in mind when making womens' underwear, the hospital thing and the menstral thing, will have you buying cheap underwear for the rest of your life. Because, replacing cheap ones that keep falling apart, is much cheaper than investing in more expensive ones. For the makers, that's much more lucrative than producing better quality that lasts longer. 3. Soooo, since men's drawers are made better than womens' from the above co.'s, than I would suggest you either buy men's briefs, or boxers, or don't wear anything. Keep in mind that the men's version has a looser weave, so those nasty poop stains come out easier than...let's say the tight weave of womens', that you are forever replacing every time you have a menstral accident. I know, I used to work at Wal-Mart!!! I personally, do not wear underwear. I refuse to give my money to greedy co.'s. I mostly buy men's clothing with a few acceptions. Try Victoria's Secret for good cotton undies. IP: Logged |

Thank you so much for that long and descriptive post, Philibird. It makes a lot of sence what you said about the men's underwear. How strange - you thought I'm a man?! I love wearing underwear so the no underwear option is not for me. But I don't like boxers. So maybe Victoria Secret will be my best shot?------------------ "Know thyself" Inscribed on the temple of Apollo at Delphi IP: Logged |

That makes much more sense, Yin. I was wondering why you were asking about underware in H&H and not FFA... hehe.My mother has to wear COTTON undies for health reasons, or none at all. You're prolly right. Victoria's Secret might be the best place to go. Also, Fredricks has some really cute lowrise full back COTTON panites. From my experience Fredricks is a little less expensive than Victoria's. IP: Logged |

Hehe it's cotton or nothing for me. Actually almost everything I wear has to be cotton(if not pure than 50-75%), cos everything else feels itchy or uncomfortable to me. Maybe it's that nitpicky Virgo in me, but I do have such a hangup about that :IP: Logged |
