I found myself today reflecting on what a fascinating thing the human body is. Last night I managed to cut my finger wide open making dinner and had to get 8 stitches to get it sewed up. Ouch! But this morning I reflected upon my experiences and thought how amazing it is when you truly think about it. All the doctors had to do was sterilize the wound and sew it up, my own body will do the rest. How is it that your body knows when it's been injured and goes immediately to work repairing the damage? There are all kinds of specialized cells that have no doubt already gone to work on my gashed finger, from white blood cells to fight infection, to platelets for keeping and holding a clot, to macrophages to eat the leftover cellular garbage, and the list goes on and on. We have yet to build a machine that can do anything like this! IP: Logged |

Right on! You should read Quantum Healing by Deepak Chopra. It's awesome. One of the things he mentions is how our bodies cure broken bones or cuts, and yet "doesn't" cure cancer. However, he talks a lot about spontaneous remission that does work, and seemingly quite simply - as "simple" as a cut. And yet, science is at a loss as to how a cut is healed - it is simply too complicated to explain. And yet, too simple for our bodies to take care of without our knowledge.Heaps of Love, Dean. ------------------ People walk at their own speed... Hi, Nate and Sesame. Our body is really great. It is doing amazing things every moment of our life: thousands and thousands of chemical reactions per second; receiving thousands of informations at the same time, seven are detected by our consciousness, the rest are processed and kept safe in our subconscious; the "soldiers" of our inmunologic system givig protection; the digestive system is completly automatic... etc. That amazing body deserves we all know the details of the way it works, and nowadays the worst mistake is to believe and accept that only the physicians must study its operation, specially knowing they consider every part of our body as a separated system from the rest. I am the person in the charge of my body, you should be in the charge of yours, he/she, in the charge of his/hers, etc. It´s impossible that a physician can be in the charge of many patients, because every person is a different world. Besides, the way they assume the problem most the times is against the nature and its laws. It is our responsibility to take care of our own body. We need to know at least one natural therapy and apply it for our healing. At first the method will be a little slow because our body has been "healed" by alopatic antibiotics and other treatments, and needs to get adapted to the true system of healing, but the results will be awesome. I'd have to say though that the best form of self healing is positivity. Everything I've read says this is a major factor. Plus the will to live. Speaking of antibiotics, the doctor gave me some "just in case" bacteria had gotten into the cut. However, anitbiotics don't discriminate, they kill the good bacteria along with the bad. Anyone know of foods one can eat that will replenish one's supply of good bacteria? I've heard yogurt and cheese are good for this (real cheese, not the so called 'cheese food' that Kraft makes).IP: Logged | |
