I have read lowering sugar intake or cutting it out all together helps those suffering from depression...anyone know anything about this???

As Linda mentioned in Goobers "You are what you think and what you eat...." (I don't think I've phrased that correctly word for word lol).

I'd think there's some truth to that. I'm not a doctor but right now I'm on a diabetic diet (no - I'm not diabetic) and my moods have evened out a great deal as well as my energy level because my sugar level isn't spiking and plummeting constantly.

Let's make a deal this time to stay with the plan
All that is needed is one leap of faith
Everything else will fall into place
Your life is a canvas -The colors are you

I think refined, white sugar is POISON and is bad for everything health-wise.

I recently made a plum pie with sucanat. Sucanat is Su(gar) Ca(ne) Nat(ural). It is sugar cane that is not refined. It turned out excellent.

My female hormones have been better since decreasing most sugars from my diet, and I am not as tired.

If you are interested, I have a sugar thread here at LL;

Yup, white processed sugar is terrible for us. I can't say that I have completely cut it out but I do keep it at a minimum when I can't pass up a piece of cheesecake...

I use Stevia, it's just a plant. Works in cooking, not sure about baking.

Good luck!

Refined sugar is my weakness. I will admit I have a problem. Last week I had made a pledge of sorts that I would quit drinking soda if my dad stopped smoking. Eh, he quit for like a day, and the worst part was, he tricked me! But I am a sucker for sweets, however, I have been looking to healthier alternatives and visiting health food stores and what not. They have some really good stuff

I would be depressed if I gave up sugar, especially icecream!
