Topic: My GOD mother needs some light

My godmother...who just turned 66 needs some love and light sent her way. She has diabetes and a heart condition. Her son called my Mother this AM to tell her that my godmother's blood sugar shot up to 1100 which caused her to go into cardiac arrest. They flew her by helicopter to a better hospital closer to Baltimore (she lives in a somewhat rural area). One of her arteries is blocked 100% and 2 others are blocked 80%, they can't do surgery until she stablizes but her lungs are filling with fluid and her kidney's are failing. Prognosis is not good.My godmother is not a blood relative. When my parents were first married and bought their first house, my godmother and her husband we their neighbors and they all became fast friends. My brother and I and her children are all close in age. When I was born, my mother had a hard time of it and almost died during childbirth and had to have some surgeries immediately after I was born. My father's sister kept me for about a month when I was an infant but then my godmother....the neighbor...took over and kept me for the next 6 months since my father was a police officer and worked a lot of shift work and was at the hospital when he wasn't working it was just easier for my godmother (the neighbor) to keep me...my brother who was also still in diapers at the time was being kept by my Mom's parents...but a new baby was too much for them. I was christened in a Catholic Church...with the neighbors being my Godparents...since that time, I have always called them Aunt and Uncle and their children were "cousins". Although I have my own mother, I still think I bonded with my Godmother in a mother/daughter way when I was an infant and I am just completely sadened by her current situation. My mother and father were at the hospital visiting her when I called their house...my brother answered and told me that's where they were. After I post this, I'm going to log off of the 'puter and call my parents again...I dial up with the computer using the phone line so if they're trying to call..it will be busy.I had to work late tonight but I'm hoping to get up to the hospital to see her...I hate to think it...but it might be the last chance I have to see her.  Her son called my Mom late yesterday and said that she was talking so I guess that's a good sing, the Dr. is just trying to get her stabalized. I know we can't live forever...but still...
