I am trying to loose weight so staying more on veggies and fruits.

But I love nuts(any of it) like Almonds, Pistachios and Cashews.
I have a question here, do they increase weight or would not affect my process of loosing weight program??

Nuts are good especially almonds. You only need a small handful a day. No need to over do it. We had a whole thread on nuts somewhere on health and healing. I'll see if I can find it.

I Nuts! They are so darned yummy!!!!!

However, I gain weight terribly when not limiting my nut intake.

I went off of peanuts because my migraine Dr. said they contribute to migraines, AND they have MOLD which is not healthy for us. She said to eat almond butter and almonds instead.

So we mostly buy almonds, and my headaches have decreased (along with limiting other food items.)

I still eat P.B. once in awhile but not much.

I don't eat peanut butter but I just like raw or salty baked nuts. That's my weakness though I try to stop but I am still eating until I will finish huge costco bag.

Ika,

Instead of buying Jif, buy natural peanut butter.

Many nuts are rich in Omega 3 Fatty acids--that is a good kind of fat. The South Beach diet...a healthier version of the Atkins diet...differentiates between healthy and unhealthy fats. Omega 3's improve mood and brain function. Raw and unsalted is best. I heard a Dr. of Alternative Medicine recommend 10 almonds a day. I usually have some walnuts or almonds on cereal in the morning. Cashews are good too. Do you know you can make a milk out of some nuts--like almonds and cashews. If you put a quarter cup of almonds or cashews in the blender and grate them...then add 1 cup of water and blend to "liquify"...you can use as milk if you are allergic to dairy or vegetarian. You can use it in cooking. Fat is fat, though, so you can't lose weight by eating big bags of nuts often. And some people experience a kind of an allergic reaction to other nuts besides peanuts.

peanut butter is good for you because it contains the heart-healthy fats, not the bad kind (saturated), and contains protein to help you feel full also. I usually eat some every day.

Some types of packed almonds contain A BUNCH of calories. Cashews contain plenty of fats as well- so they are not ideal for any individual who is trying to lose weight and who happens to be a big fan of those.

Staying mainly on veg and fruit DOES NOT guarantee you successful weight loss. Forgive me, but I have to be blunt- NOT even a vegetarian diet or a vegan diet can guarantee you successful weight management. You can certainly gain weight, become overweight, or even obese in some extreme cases- while on a veggie/vegan diet. I've seen obese individuals who are vegans or vegetarians. Food technology is so advanced nowadays, that you can easily gain access to all those plant-based substitutes for non-veg ones, munch on them and gain weight. Vegan food technology seems both a blessing and a curse.
