Well, I can tell you that it didn't work for me either, even though I only wanted to loose a few pounds. I think it's about portion control, type of food and movement. I really think you should try that. Please don't give up. Do you have any medical problems that might be the cause? Thyroid?

i recommend this book called "eat to live" by dr. joel fuhrman. (http://www.drfuhrman.com ). i personally don't strictly follow the diet, but those that do tend to lose weight very rapidly. (my friend lost 40lbs in 6 weeks).
basically, to do the diet, you only eat foods out of the veggie group...specifically, the goal is to eat foods which are high in nutrients, but low in calories. now i'm no doctor, but this seems pretty healthy to me. he also explains why other diets out there like atkins(and the typical american diet) are very very bad for you.
i *want* to believe linda's diet works, but to be honest, it was the one part of the book that didn't ring true for me.
i think weight loss, in many cases, is really a matter of burning more calories than you consume. i sometimes keep track of my intake/output on http://www.fitday.com and find that i lose weight at a very steady rate when i have a 1000 calorie deficit. (if you use fitday, make sure that you include "sleep" as an activity.)
i've lost about 30lbs over the past couple of months and if you want more tips, please let me know.
love,
cp

Can you give us more info please? How can sleep be an activity? Your body is in rest mode when you sleep. Can you please explain?

Also do you really think it's healthy to loose 40 in 6 weeks ? People can lose weight, however we need to be sure it's excess fat and not muscle or water loss.

Did you weigh yourself during it?

INBALY - I also think that if you have high stress or anxiety, you might have to work on that before or during the color diet process to get the desired results.

sorry, i should have been more specific...the fitness caluclators at fitday figure out a basic burned calories rate for the day (ie if you did nothing at all), by taking into account your current weight and your specified activity level. then you add in your different activities (exercise as well as daily activities), which brings it up. adding in "sleep" as an activity *decreases* the calories burned per day. so if you don't add in sleep, then it acts as though you are up and moving around during that time and the estimated calories burned is much higher than it should be. i didn't know this when i was first using it, so i would be eating 2500 calories a day, thinking that was ok because it was telling me i was burning 3500. but when you add in the amount of time that you sleep, it drops down to something more like 2700.
i do question the safety of rapid weight loss. but fuhrman says that your body *wants* to be at a healthy weight. and once you start actually giving it the nutrients that it needs, it will begin to rapidly adjust to where it should be.
now, a diet like atkins freaks me out cuz it can be all about eating bacon, eggs, meat, meat, meat, fat, fat, fat.
but with this diet, i dunno. i just think "how can eating lots of fruits and veggies possibly be a bad thing??" and that's what it's about.
*shrug*

Thanks, I understand now. I think it's great to eat fruits and veggies. I eat them all the time as I don't eat meat, but sometimes, I think the body requires something slightly more complex as fuel also.

I also think the Atkins diet is bad. I actually think too much of anything is bad. Everything should be in moderation. I still think portion control is important. If only people would be sensible. I went to a new tea house yesterday. I ordered homemade pumpkin chiffon cake and darjeeling tea. My portion of cake was enough to feed three people. It was so big you could have used it as a doorstop. I gave half of it to my friend to take home to her son.
