heeeelllpppp!!! I have been so unable to sleep well, or go to sleep rather quickly the past few nights and it is wearing me down so bad. I'm looking for any and all things that might help!! I'm desperate! I think my mint/eucalyptus bubblebath is supposed to help, so I'll try that, but I don't know where to go from there. IP: Logged |

oh my.. I've had much the same recently - well most of this year actually. Pure exhaustion usually does the trick! OK seriously - when I haven't had work the next day, Nytol - herbal supp. helps - although it makes me oversleep. I've hardly taken it since I usually need to be up quite early and don't like depending on such things all the time. Relaxing - I mean really relaxing. Avoid smoking, and caffiene.. a couple of hours before bedtime, get a wind down routine... candles, warm bath, reading, dim lights, theraputic oils / pillow.. pillow talk? Yeeup, that helps too Also I've heard of a new method of reverse psychology - trying to keep awake. Apparently if you try and keep awake, you'll more than likely ... IP: Logged |

before bedtime, take a few minutes to wind down with some light reading and a steaming cup of tea....the tea? bigelow sweet dreams -- a relaxing blend of chamomile and hibiscus flowers. i love this tea and it always relaxes...and it's quite yummy too. do a little deep breathing and centering and think about something that makes you happy as you lay your head upon the pillow....such as the details of your dream house, or a dream vacation, or career...etc. works like a dream! What about crystals? They can do wonders too!! Try to put 3 or more[depends on your intuition] rose quartz or amethyst quartz around your room and imagine the shining golden light coming out of them penetrating everything inside and bringing you feeling of harmony and peace within... Hope it works for you...Did help me lot...and I still keeping them around!IP: Logged |

Try a warm 15-minute feet bath before you go to bed, add a handful of organic sea salt (conventional salt is contaminated with chemicals during the bleaching process) in the water (preferably that without chlorine). Exercising for half to an hour during the day is helpful, but exercising in the evening (or even in the afternoon) would cause the opposite effect. Reading relaxing materials is good, but don't do that in bed as that would make you subconsiously think the bed is where you read instead of where you sleep. Keep regular hours, don't stay up late, don't consume coffee, black tea, green tea, coke, other soft drinks (some of them may contain coffein, take Irn Bru for example) or chocolate (which, unbeknown to most, contains caffein, too. For those who are prone to insomnia it should be avoided). Chamomile tea does help, however, it is a sedative and therefore ultimately it is not recommended. Avoid spending too much time using computers, watching TV or listening to music with a walkman/discman, particularly after 9PM. Consider sleeping pills the last resort as they are addictive. Meditation helps, too. You might like to take a meditation course- I've tried that and it worked wonderfully. Is something on your mind? Talk to someone.Or perhaps that already passed? Sleep tight. I just wanted to say thanks for all the replies! I've been really sick so I haven't had the chance to try them all, but chamomile tea w/o caffeine actually did a good job, it also added on a half hour of sleep. I liked seeing b vitamins in there, a psychic told me a few weeks ago that I really need to be taking those! I'm definitely going to be trying everything else in this thread IP: Logged |

Moon Drops, a homeopathic by Historical Remedies has helped me. Also, really thinking about dreamtime and willing yourself there as exciting journey of self-discovery. Sometimes when I can't sleep I realize there's something I'm subconsciencely trying to repress, afraid of what I might find there. If I can reassure my self that it will all be good, even if scary my higher sELF will protect me, is helping me, and that trip will help heal my anxieties better than laying there trying to figure it out. Also if you suffer from thoughts that go round + round, won't stop going over the day, etc. Bach Flower Remedy White Chestnut is indicated... My problem seems to be lately is not that I can't sleep, I don't want to. Aries that I am, feel there's too much more interesting to be doing than wasting time on sleep. Meanwhile my mental facilities diminish, and I'm not getting much accomplished anyways. Next day I pay!! Been trying to break the habit, always ends up in exhaustion after a few days of little sleep + then I'm out too long. Guess I'll learn sooner or later! IP: Logged | |
