Most people know that stress is not good for the body...but just how much do we take notice of that fact? I've known for a while now, that what you think, say, do...becomes part of you somehow. If the things thought and said are negative, they will create disharmony not just in the mind, but also in the body. Self-hate, causes the body to break down...self-Love the great spiritual energy keeps everything humming along nicely. Knowing what I know about negative energy and it's effects, I still went ahead and got myself all stressed out over a couple of days...to the point I was a shaking nervous wreck, couldn't even sit down to meditate without feeling all jittery and nervous. Then I started to get pains in my chest...which then turned into a mild chest infection. I knew that I was making myself ill because I felt it coming, knew the energy I was creating was going to back at me and bite hard...but I still kept sending out those vibes. Buddha himself said: "The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly." and also: "What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind." Cause and effect. Sometimes lessons are hard, and I realise that in order to be healthy within myself, it has to start in the mind...and the vibes I create towards myself and towards others must always be positive, full of Love and blessings. Avoid stress like the plague! Meditate, take long luxurious baths, go for walks in nature, spend time with fluffy animals...do whatever it takes to dissolve negative energy within and bring pure harmonious energy! Don't know why I felt like sharing this thought. Just did. IP: Logged |

Hiya merlinesque..Yes, I think it is really important to avoid/help ease stress! It can definitely affect your health. I know that if I get **really** stressed out I sometimes get heartburn or pain in my chest. I noticed you said, "spend time with fluffy animals," and I had to laugh, cause it's so true!! I think anyone could benefit from a pet (assuming they're not allergic) or even just trying to spend more time with animals. Apparently there are studies that show that people who have pets tend to live longer. Maybe it's just cause I'm an animal lover, but I can definitely see why that is. ------------------ "Our true nature is of no birth and no death.
