Well, I have been eating most things raw for a little over a week now. I normally eat alot of fruit and vegetables, but this time most I want to eat 80% Raw food.I actually feel great, and my skin is clearer, and so is my head. Although- my collegue is eating burger at the moment and it smells so delicous I feel like snatching it from him! Today for breakfast I ate 1 nectarine, 1 peach, and a blueberry, boison berry, strawberry and banana fresh juice. For lunch I ate a garden salad without dressing, and I have a pineapple, melon, and strawberry fruit salad for a snack later. For dinner I'm planning on having a raw veg salad. Most days this week pretty much consist of this, sometimes I eat a cracker, or some oats. And the occaisonal tofu. I haven't had soda, candy, chocolate, cakes, or chips in ages. And truly my weight has dropped a tiny bit, and I feel really great, and also, quitting smoking has been made easier. It's almost 1pm, and I've only had 2 puffs of one, and I put it out. Anyway, I just wanted to give my testimonial for eating more raw foods in their natural state. It truly is wonderful, I even feel myself having more awareness too. Anyway, I plan on doing this forever, but occasionally I'll treat myself, of course. I'm not entirely raw vegan, mainly raw vegetarian...As I enjoy goats cheese in my salad, mainly because the protein in it makes me feel satisfied, and more comfortable with the way I'm eating. Other side affects are, bright eyes, (i've had comments), better hair and nails, hardly any body odor, and a feeling of 'lightness', and no more indigestion! It's only been a week being strict on it, but it's been months of being conscious of it. I really do recommended eating things raw. I still eat rice, potato, and carrots as they have to be cooked, which is fine, just not in large portions. Very occasionally I'll have fish, and also, organic goats cheese, tofu, and crackers. And all the vegetables and fruit as often as I like! It's totally worth it!!! ------------------ "And dreams, don't ever forget, are the first step in manifesting wishes into reality"-- Linda Goodman's Star Signs IP: Logged |

Wow! Congratulations! I have researched eating raw on the internet and I would love to do it. Someone posted here about losing 100 lbs. doing the raw diet...some time ago, that was. And a website I visited...the woman lost 100 lbs. or so....Also people rave about how much younger they look when sticking to it over the years. Good for you--more power to ya...and keep us posted on how it's going.IP: Logged |

Thanks wildflwrs! Yes I'm mainly doing it to enhance my anti-aging!!! And, also I've found blueberries, and salmon (for those who still eat fish) are the best anti-aging foods!I said in another thread that I want to be strict with it for a month and see how I feel, so that's what I'll do. When I feel too hungry or too light headed, that's when I needs some rich carbs for body energy, eventually though, my body will get used not needing it. And I always remember what Randall said once about 'people who eat cookies are happy people' as I don't believe in depriving yourself if it doesn't feel right. I find that I am much more hungry in between meals because I'm not used to just eating raw, because fruit and veg mainly contain water, and fiber, so I found sipping green tea, and peppermint tea really help! Anyway, it can get hard at times- and but I just think about about my youthful looks, and better health. ------------------ "And dreams, don't ever forget, are the first step in manifesting wishes into reality"-- Linda Goodman's Star Signs

I might try that one day- it ceratinly interests me a great deal. I wonder how one would tailor it to suit the needs/tastes of a toddler?Apparently, sprouting seeds/legumes makes them more digestible and increases the digestibility. I read that most vitimins are only soluble in fat, so it is best to use olive oil or something similar on salade; that way your body can absorb the goodness more efficiently. I use to eat a lot of soya products but they didn't agree with my digestion. I found out that soya is higher in enzyme-inhibitors than any other bean; not only that, but cooking does not effectively remove them like it does with other legumes. The only soya product which doesn't conatin these enzyme-inhibitors is 'tempeh'. This is because the long fermentation process removes the inhibitors. It's how the ancient monks use to use it before the new soya product-tofu became popular. I found an awful lot of stuff on soya from various independent sorces on the net. Anyway, I won't waffle! Just fancied having my say in this- as nutrition fascinates me. IP: Logged | |
