I have this wierd problem that keeps on occuring.
All of a sudden I will see lights, it doesn't matter where I look, but in my left I it's like I am seeing a spark of light.
It started out purple, but now it's a white speck of light.
Last night, when I was reading, it happened several times in a row.
Then my normal vision returned.
However, when I see the light, my vision is fine, it's just that I see lights.

I looked it up recently and apparently it could mean a damaged retina, or perhaps it is almost detached, the common cause is blocking a sneeze, which I am guilty of.
Since reading that I no longer block my sneezes, but the lights still appear.
I have no soreness in my eye, so I'm not sure if it is that.

Does anyone know of this?
Or know what it might be?
I'm going to the optomitrist on the Saturday.
This is really strange.
But what is wierd, when I have a deeply profound thought, that is when the light noramlly appears.
Am I literally seeing the Light?
LOL...

Hey Sunchild. What you are describing sounds a lot like what has been happening to me.It started about 6 months ago...I see lights in the air.A lot of different colored ones but like you said, many of them are purple and white.Im not exactly sure what they are.Maybe I should have my eyes checked but I always just figured they were some kind of spirits or angels or something. It is odd...maybe someone else will have more opinions on the subject.Im really interested in finding out more about it.

I can partly see shades of colors on close people I know.
Although I know one day I will perfectly!

I am going to the optometrist on Saturday- to see if there is any physical damage, but I am hopeful there is not.

Hi there SunChild - you don't happen to have migraines do you? The "lights" are pretty common with them - they call them "auras"......

No, they aren't migrain aura's.

I will find out when I get my eyes' checked to see if it's my faulty 'hardware', or if it's not like that- then I may find a meta-physical explanation for it.

I get this too. I see speck of lights, not beams or huge flashes, just specks like firefies.

I see a lot of orange one with one person, and a lot of white ones alone. But, I notice them quite a bit.

I sometimes see spots and colors in odd times, sometimes on the school tile floors, sometimes on the sidwalks, sometimes the air. It's usually green, and it's got no form...it's kind of weird...I just see colors in the air, and they make obsolutely no sence to me. Thanks for starting this thread Sunchild--I'm interested to read what others have to say!

Are we talking about floaters? Sparks of white or coloured lights? If so, everyone gets them now and then. If you have them continually, then please get your eyes checked. Near sighted and mature people get them more often, as do people who have excessive exposure to bright lights and sunlight. I really think you should get your eye pressure checked too because there are various other conditions that may cause them.

There is a light sensitive pigment in the eye called rodopsin, or they sometimes call it the visual purple. If you are doing something like reading or watching television and your eyes move quickly to one side or another you will get flashing purple sparks. That is because, if there is not enough pigment present when your eyes are doing this, a time delay occurs between the time the eyes focus on an object and the time the brain forms an image of it. This causes the purple vision. I still think you may be slightly blurry or near sighted. All the same, please get your eyes checked.

Ahhhh, floaters! Those sneeky little black dots that pop up and make you think there is a bug flying in front of your face! (quick flinch)

I remember when I was young and I saw that black floater dot in my field of vision .... i kept point towards it while telling my mom (not ma) . But ever time I turned my eyes toward it it would continue to move in the direction me eyes were headed. All my mom could do was laugh at me .... uncontrolably laugh. As she was trying to tell me about the floaters ...

honestly, though ... it really scared me I thought I was beginning to go blind ... and that one lil itty bitty black dot was gonna grow bigger.

Hope you get it all figred out sunchild!

I think I do see er...floaters...but they look more transparent. I think I am slightly near sighted--can it be bad? I don't think my parents have the time nor money to take be to an eye doctor, and I only see them when I concentrate...I thought they were pretty light particles.its just--sometimes, i don't see a white or black or green (or any color) wall as a solid, but with spots in them, as if it was a living breathing moving thing...I wonder what other people see...I wish I could see things in other peoples eyes...I'm pretty sure no one else sees walls and floors and skies with dots in them, (tho the dots are pretty)

I see little floating particles of white or translucent too! It doesn't happen to me very often, and nothing seems to be wrong with my vision, so I also thought the were harmless little particles of light.

Gia, if seeing these little particles was an indication of eye problems, would there be other symptoms as well?

What I see is definantly light, it's strong like a flash the size of a pinhole.

I have a lazy eye, and so my left eye works a lot harder than the other, and that's the eye that sees the lights.

My lazy eyes is so weak that if I close my good eye my weak eye can mainly see the inner eye lid from my good eye.
So my whole vision is blurred by the darkness that my left eye is seeing.
I can still make out colors, light, shadows, and some depth perception, but I can't read accurately or recognise faces.

So I want to look afer my good eye, it's important.
I'd like to know that I WILL really truly be able to 'see forever'.

Too funny, my Libra sister sees those flashes or lights too. Last year a psychic told her that she should learn to read auras....I don't remember if my sister brought up the lights or if the psychic did.
I'll try to remember to ask her and get back to ya.

But yes, I would definately see an eye doctor. Eyes are too precious to mess around with.

I'm a Libra, with a Scorp ascendant...? I don't remember where, but I think someone said that had to do with the dots and all...and I am practicing in seeing auras, and I can, just not all the time, and I have to concentrate...
