Greetings! My name is Brenda but people call me Brennie. I have been a Goober since I read Star Signs back in 1989 & also loved Gooberz as well (I write poetry, am in love with love & love magic, so what's not to love about Linda Goobman's work!). Anyway, I spent the morning reading thru this entire Health & Healing forum for info on the Rainbow Diet. I've seen a few comment that there's alot thru the older posts, but I have not found what I'm looking for. What I'd like to know is how many people this has worked for vs. how many it hasn't, and for those it has worked for, to what extent? Also, I have been wondering how literally to take her instructions as far as the placement of the lamps. She says 2 feet from the skin, but I bought a clip-on lamp. Plus, she says to put between your legs but that would not bring the bulb to 2 feet above the skin. ALso! I bought TWO lamps & am wondering if this would be MORE effective if I put one at feet & one at solar plexus simultaneously for half hour... any thots on this? Thank you & I look forward to sharing & exchanging & getting to know ya'll!!! ~Brennie IP: Logged |

Welcome! ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

Welcome Brennie. If you've read the old posts, then you know that I'm one who was not successful with the Rainbow Diet. I did not complete it, when my jeans got snug, I said "Whoa!" and stopped. When I held the lamp between my legs I had the bulb within inches of my skin, as the lamp had a neck that bends. If you feel you might benefit more with two lamps, go for it! Keep us posted on your progress. IP: Logged |

Hi Brennie, I did the color diet several times and it always worked in the beginning and then stopped. So the last time that I did it I went down about a pants size in the first week and then it stopped working again. I think that there is more to the color diet than the information that was given. There are some people who may gain weight when there is emotional baggage or self esteem issues and things like that. Perhaps if one is the sort of person who holds things in, that may contribute to the color diet not working or weight gain. Depression and things like that may contribute the results of the color diet in some people. I was just now thinking that perhaps the color diet is for people who have a problem with only their metabolism and their emotional condition is okay as far as the free-flow of them. I may try it again at some point or I may not need to I don't know. But I definately think that there is some information about it that is not found in Star Signs that is causing it to work in some and not in others or work for a couple of weeks and then stop cause if light is color and numbers and math then it should work a hundred percent of the time, so something must be missing in the equation. I hope that is works for you Brennie because I really do believe in the validity of it!!! Tell me what you think about what I said about the possible emotional aspect of it. When I did it I just put the base of the lamp on my pelvis and the bulb wasn't more than a foot and a half away, if that much. Ditto for my feet so I really don't think that it would be a problem. I don't know what I think about the simultaneous lamps.------------------ Get some love in your groove, just get hip to forgive... - Michael Franks IP: Logged |

I think there's ALOT of validity in your comments about the emotional aspect of it. In fact I was recently talking with a friend about a revelation that excess weight IS emotional baggage! I had this confirmed when I hopped onto my treadmill for over an hour & began sobbing... & this lasted for days. If I had not equated the weight with stored, negative emotions I would have thot I was sinking into a depression, so I was able to let it move thru & thus FROM me without claiming it & making it who I am. Make sense? So, after that I tried a visualisation that I'd like to share with all of you. I did this one night & saw results the next day.. but don't remember to do it daily. Here's what I did: Lying in bed at night, I visualised my emotional body, which resembled my physical body. I'd scoop a bit of "fat" with my hands & hold it up to Spirit & said, "Please take this & transform it into love" then I kissed it & watched it sparkle upward and become a new expression, like sparkling stars or butterflies, etc. I repeated this scooping & releasing thru all parts of my body that I feel have excess, & you can do large scoops too so one time = one area. I too believe in this color diet, so if the results are this inconsistant then I agree, there must be something missing from the equation. I am a firm believer about how our thoughts & intentions & expectations create our realities, so maybe that's part of it? For those of you who had no or reverse results, may I ask if you had any doubts about the validity of the color diet? I love this forum! I'm gonna be sharing some beauty secrets in that wonderful thread too! ~Brennie IP: Logged |

Hi Brennie and welcome - your comment "excess weight IS emotional baggage" really interested me! I can totally relate to that, when I am sad or in "need" emotionally, I always eat. I dont know anything about the Rainbow Diet, but of late I have been listening to a Paul McKenna cd "Change your life in 7 days" and it HAS, I feel more relaxed, happy and am eating FAR less - love Sue xxxIP: Logged |

Right on about the emotional baggage aspect of excess weight! The color diet is a bit confusing... I never really got certain aspect of it- like, how come potatoes are allowed but not french fries? And where does that leave potato chips? (yes, I am a food junkie... or should I say junk food addict ) IP: Logged |

Thanx all for the welcomes! Hmm... Maybe french fries & chips aren't allowed because of the oil they're fried in? My weakness is butter (my cat's name is Butter! & yes, she's a plumper). So that's why I was happy to see that Butter (oops, butter) is totally OK on this diet! IP: Logged |

i am on the diet right now, i am 15 days in and i have lost about 12 pounds (208 to 196). i am also going to the gym and lifting weights 3 times a week and riding a stationary bike about 3x a week (but im about to kick it up to 5x). i did this diet in december as well, but i couldn't keep consistent with my times of day so it failed.. though i still lost weight. this time ive been perfect at 6:30 am everyday, and with the solarized water 2x a day. i think a hard part of this diet is mental. one must believe that it has already worked before they can see it work.... like, if you're waiting for results to believe it and WONT prior to that point, it may not at all. but 15 days in i still get my stomach grumbling after i drink the solarized water, and my tummy dances to the red light everytime. ill keep everyone informed on progress. This can be said of any diet/eating program. I thought the whole point was that the colors were meant to balance you, whether you believed it or not. Belief is a funny thing. If you feed your dog immense amounts of McDonald's food every day, s/he may grow fat. And if s/he does, is it born from belief that McDonald's food makes you fat? And if it doesn't make him/her fat, is it born from a belief that no food makes you fat unless you believe it will? If no food will make you fat or thin unless you believe it will or won't...then it doesn't matter what you eat or how much color you bring into your body. All that matters is the belief. IP: Logged |

Wow LaLaLa! You've had good success! How much do you attribute to the efforts you're making outside of the color diet? I myself have not started yet - you see, we have this Starbucks here that has a punch card - every 10th punch is a free drink, & my favorite drink costs almost $6 so that's nothing to sneeze at! Plus they're ending it this week so I gotta finish my card & get my last Venti Quad Peppermint Breve Latte!!! (does this sound like an excuse? it's really not! honest!) heehee Also does anyone know where herbs come into play with this? I've been taking Green Tea capsules. They're actually white... think I can still take these? & CQ10? That's white too... but comes in a blue bottle. hehe IP: Logged |

i attribute alot to the color diet, like i said i can feel my stomach gurgling during the day, and especially after the solarized water. also, with all the muscle ive been putting on, i should probably be gaining weight! i eat mostly chicken all day (which is a-ok for plumpies!), and with all that protein i should probably be gaining weight (as it is absorbed to repair the muslce)IP: Logged |

Brennie, you might want to rethink the green tea. There are several threads here on LL regarding flouride and how it impacts the thyroid, but here is a new link from where you can begin: http://www.sixwise.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=105 BTW, regarding beliefs. I have read (and agree) that it might be to our benefit to stop saying "lose weight." Why call ourselves losers, and risk a misunderstanding from our literal Universe? And often, what is lost, is found again.
Just say you're saying goodbye to some weight you no longer need, and as Brennie suggested, send it off into the Universe to become something beautiful.
