Hello everyone, My name is Matthew Ciuccio, I was here on Lindalan few years ago and left, and now have come back again.

The reason I am posting my first message this time in Health and Healing, is because it is my favorite thing to wonder about, besides astrology.

I have really enjoyed Linda Goodman's writing on these two subjects. Although what I have read of what she mentions about diet is limited to the An Apple A Day Chapter in Star Signs.

The thing I wish to ask and to discuss about, is if anyone knows, is her idea of a 15 year gradual diet change from a meat eater (me currently) to a frutarian.

I have done every diet in the spectrum from 3 years as a vegan to 6 months as a raw food vegan, all the way to omnivour, which eats pretty much only meat. And everything in between.

Health wise, I have not felt better or worse one way or antoher, but always, with the meat eating, I feel morally bad, because, I love animals, and knowing myself, I know I would never go and get my own meat, so I feel very hypocritical, just buying it in the super market, or on a bun, when it in no way looks like the creature it once was.

Astrologically I am a Virgo Sun, Libra Moon, and Scorpio Asc (9/4/1970, 11:44am, Jersey City, NJ for those who care(in my case I wish everyone I met introduced themselves like that to me)) in western astrology, and I tend to be a bit mutable in my actions, I have always changed my diets abruptly.

The reason again I am typing here is Linda's writing about the gradual 15 year change being good, for our bodies, and also numerologically signifigant, such was what a Hatha Yoga told her.

I am almost 35 and I would love to start this gradual change, and in 15 years when I am 50 be a near frutarian....but, I have never seen it mentioned or discussed anywhere outside of the pages of that chapter in Star Signs. I mean, inside me it rings true, and I know the body likes to take things slowly, so maybe I will try it, but my lack of committment to things makes a 15 year long project seem wishful thinking.

Do any of you have any thought on this matter? If so I'd love to hear them.

Thanks, and I am glad I am back on Lindaland.

Matthew

Hi matthewciuccio,

I haven't been on her diet or rather eating style, but have been contemplating it for health and spiritual reasons.

Did you know that meat simply rots in our intestines, and that is the way it digests or breaksdown.

HI Matthewciuccio.

I just got off of the peta.com site and the goveg.com web site...dude I am so ready to quit the meat thing. I am 260 right now,and even though its very athletic, I just feel wrong...I am use to 200, I know tis from the Carl JR (hardees) burgers and Mickey D's quarter pounders, but its not the weight its the guilty feeling after I've stuffed my tummy with that delicious meat, pickles, onions and special sauce.

When I buy it, i know I dont need it, but i want it!! and i get it and its so good, but half way through the depression comes on, but i have to finish, cause HELL...i payed for this.....I am thirty-Five too and I know...its hard to quit.

but I have to do it. I have found, from past memory, that if you plant a garden which i am in the process of doing, that can help you to kick the habit. if you dont live in a yard, sometimes you can rent a small plot in your city or suburb.

I am there for ya man....we got to stick together, I want to be back to 200 by this fall. In the morning, when i bend down to put on my underwear and i feel that creak in my QL (lower back)..I know its that damn meat I ate.

Hi Mathew, welcome!
I would like to adopt the raw diet. I've visited websites and some people have lost 100 pounds....and they look so young....that's impressive.
Well, I can't imagine planning anything for 15 years.....I think it would be hard to do the raw diet without having other people around that are doing it. It's hard to go against the grain....but that interests me.
Anyway....all the best to you in your pursuit of finding what is right for your body and your health.

Thanks a lot everyone, I apprecitae your replies and links.

But what I am really really trying to dig out, is the very specific mention, from Linda Goodman about this 15 year shift. It is in her book Star Signs, in the chapter An Apple A Day.

I suppose it is best just to go with my hear and realize when i read it (probably 15 years ago now... ) for the first time it rang so true.

And with me sudden dietary starts and stops along the way, even though I made vegan for 3 years, it did not stick.

The reason why I wish to dialog with someone on this matter is because 15 years is a very long time, and my lack of stictuativness is sometimes pretty strong. But the entire plan strikes my fancy with my turning 35, plus 15 makes 50, 1/2 a centry in(well with the physical immortality also this is then just a numbers game) It is me and fruit.

Well, it sounds like a plan anyhow, but, usually I am very good for mining info on the internet or out of people

(my mercury is parallell pluto in virgo)

and this one tidbit, i feel totally alone on, almost like it is printed only in my copy of Star Signs...

Ok, well, I love LindaLand look at it Aall the time but do not post much. A virgo interested in a health issue...big suprise.

Have a great day all!

ps thanks for your astrological intro, now let's get the other 6billion people on earth doing that! It would be so nice to have a heads up

I remember reading it as well, so it was in at least another copy..
But, I can't recall exactly, and am no expert.
*munching on barbeque fritos right now.

I don't have frito-thighs, mind you, but I like a nice fried crunch once and a while.
I know!!!
Start with a banana!
Can you find your copy of the book?
Maybe if you ordain it, you will find it again.....
Good luck.

Oh, I have my copy of the book alright. it is quite dog eared (not a vegan-esq saying, is it? ) So, I am glad I have a reply from one other soul (who doesn't have frito thighs none the less, that they say it.

OK, so, well, I suppose I will follow my heart, and do the slow change over time, and it really si only morally, cows sure taste great!!!

But, I do not pass by a pasture ever and see a cow, and start salivating.... so, oh well.

I am glad to be on lindaland, hopefully, I will meet up with some other physical immortals here also.

Yeah, it's hard to get over the poop smell.

My non-frito thighs and I aren't immortal.
Though our soul is.
