For those of you who aren't saying "Well, Duh!"...

The average American's diet is notoriously low in iron. This is especially problematic for women and people with strong Uranian energy.

"LACK OF IRON is the most common nutritional deficiency in the world... Iron rich foods can fortify your Blood, in a properly balanced diet, which can become weakened by a lack of foods rich in iron. Iron, the metal, is an element that is also a nutrient (trace) mineral that humans need to consume as a part of our everyday diet. Iron, in some form, is essential for good health.

"A deficiency of iron makes us TIRED and APATHETIC, a condition known as anemia. Anemia is characterized by low levels of hemoglobin, causing oxygen starvation in your tissues. Though anemia common condition, do not try self-diagnosing it or try prescribing dietary supplements because the symptoms of anemia can also indicate other, more serious, diseases, such as bleeding ulcers or even cancer.

"If you are a woman of child-bearing age it is vital to prevent iron deficiency anemia, which increases the risk of complications during and after childbirth. This is done by eating foods rich in iron along with foods that are rich in vitamin C (fresh vegetables, etc.) and by avoiding iron inhibiting foods such as tea.

"How Would You Know if You Are Iron Deficient?

You could be iron deficient if you.....

..... are unusually tired

..... have reduced ability to exercise comfortably

..... have poor stamina

..... get frequent infections, or

..... if you are lethargic."

Looks like I actually get a lot of iron daily. My favorite cereal is Special K, and I love oatmeal. I'm still a very tired and sleepy person though .

Everlong - Awesome (I love special K)! I get very tired sometimes, too. I just started taking these "NewChapter" multi-vitamin, mineral, probiotic, whole-food vitamins and I'm cutting through spiritual materialism - lol!, which is to say that I've got so much energy, I can barely direct it. They're kind of expensive, but mad worth it! Also, wheat-grass juice is my best friend.

beebuddy - You are so welcome!

Bluemoon - I'm doing great, thanks. I'm like a little kid with a bowl of clam chowder; the world is my oyster cracker! Hope you are well, too.

Yes I can attest to this. I am afterall controlled by Uranus for the most part. Aqua Sun, Mars, Mercury, and Uranus in the 6th house of health.

I have anemia, like many women do. Some forms of anemia, however, cannot really be controlled by ingesting iron. Thalassemia for example, which I have a mild form of cannot be helped through this common remedy.

I posted something on it here..
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001021.html

And here's a site on Thalassemia if anyone is interested.

Oh man, looks like I should go eat some faggots, cockles, and oxo cube?

My doctor told me to keep an eye on my iron sometime back, and then a psychic woman told me I needed more last year...which is weird because I love beans! I even ate a whole bowl of lentil soup today Pretty neat to see that garam masala is a good source, I LOVE indian food (especially channa masala with naan mmmm).

As the Deftones sing in one of their songs: "We're all anemic..."
