Melod1!
I use a Britta water filter. I know that we have too much copper and lead and other nasty stuff in our water, as it comes from Lake Erie. It also removes the clorine they add to it to kill the Great Lake nasties. And yes it does taste better! It makes even tea/coffee, and cooking water better! One of the biggest changes I have noticed is that my blood sugar average has dropped about 70 points, and the IBS symptoms have become less. I think that if you have water of a suspicious or unknown quality, the filter is a good idea. You could have your water checked first for dangerous chemicals, bacteria etc., to see if you should use a filter or not. Having hard water can be good for you and supply many minerals. But if mixed in that good mix, is bad stuff, well a filter is a wise choice.

I just take my empty gallon jugs to the natural food market or the food co-op and pay 39 cents a gallon for the reverse osmosis filtered water. I'm not sure if it more purified that what you come out with if you buy a filter.

We have really bad water here... I have a filter on the faucet and I fill a brita pitcher from the filtered water from the faucet! My birds stopped getting calcium deposits on their beaks!

To avoid senilty, lung damage and many other later life problems it is most important to get the Chlorine and Florine out of drinking water! However in doing so you also remove many of the "essential minerals" as well, which the body needs.

Yes! only filtered water; but ensure mineral contentis replaced by wholesome fruit and vegies, or an earth supplement.

Incidently not just for drinking !

Everytime you take a hot shower you are inhaling chlorine gas which is burning your lungs and damaging your sinuses.
