My period came early this month (23 days instead of 28) and then 9 days later I got another!! Has anyone else experienced this and if so, could it be the start of the change, I am 46?? Love Sue xxxIP: Logged |

From what I have read that could be the beginning of a change for you. That is exactly one of the things that can signal it. Im 45, the only changes so far for me ( besides the irritability& pms every day of the month) is spotting a day or two before, then one heavy day and then a few lighter days. I have never had two in one month but lots of women in this time of life do.IP: Logged |

That is one of the first symptoms. All the female organs are getting worn out. That is why it is "easier" to consieve twins in your 40's. Your ovaries start dropping more than one egg. IP: Logged |

Yes... Along with your increased sexual urges... Sure sounds like menopause to me. But at least no more periods as you said! IP: Logged |

Thanks ladies for your comments, very helpful, I think my ma was 48 when she started hers, I am coming up for 47, so it could be the start I suppose. A white witch here in ireland told me my best years would be between 50 and 60, that I would really live then, maybe the menopause WILL bring me a new lease of life then - YAY- and I hear that 50 is the new 30, aint that true Fayte girl??? Love to all xxxxIP: Logged |

Most definitely! For me turning 50 was just soo cool! Turning 30 was scary....turning 40 was depressing...BUT 50 IS REALLY a whole different feeling! It is like you can see your life to date so clearly and accept what and who you are and have been.....and then go onward with a sense of finally being able to love yourself and be happy with yourself. Optimism goes up, even if the older body gives one trouble....one values their life more...and does not want to waste time....everything is more intense and more interesting than when I was 30.THE BIG 5..0 is Very Cool...and not old unless you think it is! PS.Having a younger husband does not hurt either! He is 35.

I usually have problems like that when I'm stressed or do something stressful to my body. Say, I start a new diet or excercise program - I'll get my period two weeks between each period. But if I keep my body consistant, I'll be regular.IP: Logged |
