It's strange how we never mention anything about Reiki? Has anyone taken courses? Is anyone a Reiki Master/teacher? Isn't Reiki awesome?

I hope to be getting my first Reiki attunement late this month. I'm very excited about it. I'm very interested in learning the whole nine yards.

Hi Star,

You'll find strings on Reiki if you do a search - I remember quite a few discussions on the topic.
I hope you enjoy your first attunement as much as I did. I remember thinking the master was pulling my hair - my ma told me his hands were WAYYYY above my head.

Yay a Reiki thread!!

I'm still really excited as I've almost finished level 3 Reiki.
Star, you'll love it!
I am mid-way through the master level. And I've recently been certified in second degree Reiki (having all 3 attunements and my lineage.)
Each attunement was such a great experience, you'll feel amazing after it.
I haven't done much healing yet, a couple of times on myself, and some on my partner, and each time it really worked more than I had expected.
You'll enjoy it!

I've never been trained but when I read about reiki it described perfectly what I do when i give people massages....I float my hands above them to find where the pain is and where the energy doens't flow...and i focus my attention/energy there...I'd like to get officially trained someday

Sounds like you're already comfortable with scanning BR...you'd be great

I've never heard of Karuna-Reiki Star, I might look that up, I use the Usui-Reiki system, and after that course I will move onto Seichim, which is an advanced Tibetan healing system that originated from egypt 5000 yrs ago.
I feel I have past life connections to it...and it's nice to get all those impressions while I'm studying it.

Hi art

I would recommend Reiki classes to anyone, even just a couple, it's so important to recognise how energy operates.
And it's easy because it's so delicately simple.

Reiki shouldn't be draining on a person because the healer is only the medium for Reiki energy, and no energy is actually being taken away from the healer. But on the flipside, I have heard stories of healers becoming ill and then they blame their practise.

At this time though, I stand to believe Reiki is not the cause and that they have their own personal issues that need healing too, perhaps they've been ignored because they devote so much time healing others.

Wow, BR!! Seems like you have a good thing going. You should make the most of it.

SunChild, I feel the same way about the healer being the medium - but I've never thought about the fact that maybe the healers who say Reiki tires them out are dealing with their own issues. I always thought they wre just faking. You might have something there....

If you learn Reiki, will you be able to do it on yourself? Or do you have to have someone else do it for you?

That's the beauty of Reiki. Most people get into it for themselves and then they learn to do it for others. When you do Reiki for another person you also get treatment on yourself.

Reiki is a wonderful energy tool. Each level opens doors of transformation. I personally believe what type of Reiki is irrelevant. Achieving balanced energy is the greatest gift you could give yourself and others.

In love and light.
