When would it be best time to fast? New Moon? Full Moon? Waxing or waning? I'd guess waning, but any other suggestions?

The best time to start anything is a new moon, the best time to bring something to culmination is a full moon.

It depends on how you're dieting so far. If you're just going to start a fast willy nilly, then new moon would be best.

I always begin a fast or a cleanse on the day of the new moon.
If I am getting rid of old habbits, addictions ect...I do that on the waning moon.

Philly, because the waning moon is decreasing it's visibility and appears to be shrinking it is sensible then to remove, and give up things at this time.
As for the waxing moon, it is increasing visibility and appears to be growing and so this is the time to create things, and add things in your life.

I don't know if anyone knows this, but here's a tip: When you look at the moon you can tell if it's waning or waxing easy, if it is waning the moon will look like the letter 'C'. If it is waxing the moon will look like the letter 'D'.

)0( Symbol of the triple goddess, also a good reminder as to the Moon's phases. If the crescent appears like this ) it is waxing until it gets to a Full Moon 0. If it appears like this ( its waning until it gets to the Dark Moon/New Moon.
