My beautiful baby girl, Carrera (7mo) just had exploratory surgery on her elbow. They found a fractured medial process. Which is basically in the joint of the elbom. They removed the overgrowth/fracture and also cut through her ulna in hopes that the bones will settle into the right place and be congruative to one another. Because of needing to "settle" the bones, they are unable to place her in a cast. Shes lame on her right leg due to the procedure and must be confined for 6-8weeks. Since this is a form of elbow dysplasia, the arthritis has already settled in. I've read alot about Tahitian Noni also being very good for pets. And that it has some healing properties that assist in arthritis. I will need to look further into that though. I take the stuff myself and love it.

The hardest part with all this is shes still a lil puppy and trying to keep a puppy down is very ruff!! The first night home with her was very hard for both her and i. I assisted her in every move she made and she realized i was there to help her. I tried with all my might to envision the light surrounding her. I visualized it going from the top of my head, down thru my hand, flowing freely into her head and spiraling down to her elbow. When i reached her elbow, she twitched and let a lil wimper out. (i never physicaly touched her elbow) I just laid with her and did the visual about 3 times over. She ended up falling asleep in my arms as i did with her. That was all friday night. Saturday she seemed in much better shape. She was bright eyed, happy and energetic. Although i cant allow her to release that energy just yet. Today her personality has picked up and she is trying to use her paw/leg. Although, again i cant allow that just yet either. The bones must have time to heal themselves. She is stretching her arm and retracting it all on her own (which was somehting i was supposed to work on with her, re-habilitation exercises) but with her doing them on her own no need for me to step in and disrupt the flow. Shes such a brave strong girl - not a quiter.

Please everyone, send my baby girl lots of love and light. She needs all she can get at this point for a quick and healthy recovery. She goes in for a 2 week check up and i'd love to show the doc that we are progessing at a fantastic rate!

Oh, she's adorable.
When our Lizzie (now deceased) had arthritis, I gave her Perna/Green Mussel Capsules from http://www.naturalrearing.com ~ they're Glycoflex without the yeast, and seemed to really help her.

best wishes to both of you,
Angela

Awww, Thank You Everyone for all your support, prayers and light - along with sincere love. She has improved tremendously over the last 48hours. She appears to have done a total 180 since Friday. Her spirits are high. Shes more active and back to her usual self - of sorts. I was greeted this morning with wet sloppy kisses all over my face. She actually sat at the back door waiting to go to work (we live where we work)Shes getting really good, although as i said before we cant allow all that activity just yet .... the healing of them bones is gonna be the longest and hardest part.

Thanks so much for everything - She and I are forever grateful to have you wonderful people pulling for her!! if she could speak she'd thank you all for everything.

I'll keep ya updated!

Well tomorrow will be one week exactly since her surgery. She goes in for a check up exactly one week from today. She seems to be, in my eyes anyways, progressing very well. She's spent alot of time sleeping and recouping. Her arm/elbow/joint has absolutly no swelling what so ever. I'm really surprised about that, then agian she has spent alot of time sleeping and not walking around on it. Yesterday seems to be one of her worst days, since the initial surgery. She let out alot of lil whimpers and yelps thru out the day. Either from walking, or in one instance she jumped up on a co-worker and when sh ewent to get down she hurt herself. (thats a bad habit we've been trying to break)

I let her taste some of my Tahitian Noni the other night and she actally liked it. (and its pretty bitter) So i've done alot of reading around on using this stuff on animals and think i'm gonna give it a shot. I just need to figure out a way to give it to her, since its liquid form - maybe she'll actually drink it outta a bowl - since she liked the taste.

More updates to come ...

She's beautiful.

And, I just realized that I still have not sent to you the papers I promised. I'm so sorry, there's no excuse, and I will get them to you.
