My Boyfriends 78 year old grandfather(born Nov 10, 1927 in Missouri - he was adopted with his twin sister - no time is given) is in need of some prayers, lots of love and much light. He's had a condition known as Diverticulitis. In which which pouches that form in the wall of the large intestine (colon) become inflamed or infected. He's had this for many years, since his childhood. Diverticulitis is usually treated with a high-fiber diet, antibiotics for infection, and pain relievers. Surgery to remove the diseased part of the colon may be necessary if complications such as an abscess or peritonitis develop or if repeated attacks are not helped by other treatment. Well, this is what has happened now. He underwent an emergency surgery yesterday to remove part of the large intestine. Apperantly the walls wore thin or something to that effect and blood was coming in to the intestine. In that case there is no way to stop the bleeding except to remove part of that diseased intestine.

About a month ago he started bleeding internally and they were able to control it. With whaT? im not really sure. However he was in a good enough state of health and mind for the doctors to allow him to fly here to Alaska for a brief summer visit. He left here in the 11th. And now once again it has all started. He was extremely scared the last go round. And was unsure of alot of things, his over all health, was scared to do normal daily events and such. So this time around really concerns us on how he will recover mentaly and physically.

Please send Pop-Pop all the love, light and prayers you are able to give for a healthy recovery.

I know someone who went through the same thing, she is doing fine nearly 10 years later after nearly dying.

Well i have a lil bit of an update. Pop Pop had a pretty rough day yesterday But each day will be better, except that he has to do this all over again to reconnect the part of the intestine they took out in approx 3 months. So for the mean time he has a bag but Auntie Ariana said he's ok with that, it was that he was really having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how the morphine pump worked and when to press the button and he would think he did and he hadn't so Auntie Ariana & lil cousin Andrea were trying to help him with that Auntie Ariana thought by the time they left he would be ok and be feeling a lil more comfortable with this whole situation. The doctors do want him to get up and start walking around so he doesnt loose his strength/muscle mass lying in bed the whole time. He's so healthy besides this problem. So continue sending prayers and while light blessed with love. And we will do the same for Pop Pop.

I and want to especially thank Angel of Hope for the posting - you are a true Angel.

We hope that his road to recovery will be a short and smooth one. Although I am not able to be there, I am always with him in my heart and spirit.

But they will soon be able to get him on regular food.

Auntie Ariana & Niece Andrea are holding up fine. It's been a rough road for them too, since they are there taking care of Pop Pop. I am so fortunate to have a loving sister and niece there to be there for him.

When I talked to him this morning, he was just chatting away about his trip to visit us in Alaska and how much he enjoyed it.
