I need to ask you guys for whatever light you can give me right now. I have been having strange symptoms over the past few days, and gave been to the doctors twice so far. Some of the symptoms are swelling andtenderness around my right ear with no sign of exterior unfection, as well as severly decreased appetite, erratic blood pressure and a "sweet taste" in my mouth. Yesterday when I went to the doctor, they took my blood suger and it was over 100, even though I hadn't eaten in 7 hours (clincially speaking, I was fasting), and hadn't had anything sugary that day. This morning my mom, who's a nurse, read it again, and it was still over 100, and all I had was some low-cal yogurt a hour before. Tomorrow I have to go back to the doctor and they'll do an urine test to see if my kidneys are dumping sugar. Diabetes runs in my family, so I know all to well about it. I very worried about this: I'm only 34, and I already take/do several of the recommendation to reduce risk for diabetes (I could exercise more though...sigh). I also already take cayenne, ALA, chromium, COQ10, Omega 3 EFAs and a mutlivitamin as part of my daily herbal/supplemental regime, things that are recommended for or have shown to help diabetes. I know that it's likely this is more a borderline case of diabetes, if this is what this is, and I could get in under control by losing some pounds and exercising more. But still, I'm very scared right now. So whatever you can send my way, thank you. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I'm afraid of that as well for myself, so I feel you. My symptoms, if I truly have them, are much different, though. IP: Logged |

Lots of luck, Nympth!! I hope it will turn out to be a false alarm. But just in case it isn't, I know quite a few people who turned their diabetes II around by drastically cutting carbohydrates, to the point where they "threw away" their meds... Keep us posted. IP: Logged |

Thank you guys. I won't know the results of my urine test until next week. One problem I am having is that I am on strong antibiotics for the inflammation, and it's not clear whether some of my symptom are side effects from thsoe or indicators of high blood sugar. We'll have to see. IP: Logged |
