A bit of a heavy one this........

Our son had a very traumatic birth and as a result has suffered with insomnia and nightmares since. He is now having help from a woman who is fabulous with children. He sees her once a month. Yesterday he built a tunnel out of chairs and crawled thro them......she said when kids do this they usually are acting out their birth (or how is should have been), or reliving it so to speak. As he was a c.section, he was pulled out of me quite violently and didnt get the chance to travel slowly down the birth canal.

When he got home he built another tunnel out of the curtains and cushions. I realised what he was doing and asked if I could join him. I asked him to crawl thro the tunnel slowly and I would meet him at the end.....he did and I held him against my body, as I should have done the day he was born.........

Apparently every time a child is allowed to "act out" these stressful events, it helps to heal the wound.

I suffered very bad post natal depression cos he wasnt allowed to bond with me for the first day of his life.......to be honest it took me a long long time to accept and heal this. With the help of healing and gentle therapy, I am now at a place of more acceptance..

After we had finished in the tunnel.....I looked at him and said "you are working it out arent you love".....he replied very confidently 'YES I AM MUM'........

I shed so many tears after he was born, for what could have been, but now looking at him I feel I was too hard on myself, cos he is really working it out......with a little help from his family and friends...........

God bless all

Sue g,
Sounds like a loving family, glad to hear you all are working through this. Any improvement with your son's sleep troubles?

HI Lemingtyne

And thanks for your kind words....yes he is doing much better....we are giving him Rock Rose every night before bed and also I cleansed his room with sage and did prayers and he seems a lot better now....

The woman who is helping him thro the birth trauma from England sent him a beautiful painting of the Archangel Michael and he has that on his wall next to the bed to protect him.....

It seems to be working.

Thanks for asking

Love

Sue xxx xxx
