Regarding candida, what makes you say that dairy etc... is not a good idea? Dairy has an alkalinizing effect on the body which is why it was suggested in an earlier "bee" post.

What have you heard about dairy & candida? Love to hear your thoughts/reasoning. Dairy is such a polarizing issue! LOL

IMO dairy gets an unjustified bad reputation. Of course ALL animal products are more toxic (per calorie) when grown in impure conditions, but "beebuddy" is a big fan of organic eggs and dairy in general.

Hi beebuddy,

I will not be able to reply to this in depth till next week. I'm sorry! I'm about to take off from work right now and have a very busy weekend ahead, including going to see U2 in concert tomorrow.

But for starters, generally all meat/dairy is considered acidic, rather than alkaline. Since you know about both, you also know it's preferable for your body to be in an alkaline state. To the best of my memory, there is little or no dairy considered to be alkaline. I have several books on the subject, including Alkalize or Die.

Also, one of the biggest problems is all the antibiotics in dairy. More soon...

U2! Sweet!

Lemme know when you get back cause I wanna know a source for the dairy acid/base thing. The reason I ask is that I have heard contradicory reports! I hate that about the internet, you can write whatever the heck you want snd it doesn't have to be reputable.

Anyway, let's get to the bottom of this sometime.

Hi beebuddy. Yeah, U2 were brilliant, as always. I'm ready to go back again...

Anyway, I'll check my books at home. There is some disagreement on dairy/meat being acidic or alkaline. Some things are more alkaline than others, some are more acidic than others, etc.

I think the biggest problem with consuming dairy and meat while trying to rid your body of candida/yeast, is the antibiotics. As we all know, antibiotics are a major cause of yeast infections, because they strip all the good flora from our systems as well as the bad. That's why so many women eat yogurt while taking a course of antibiotics.

In this country, cattle and all farm animals/birds are treated with antibiotics; lots of them. Milk is laden with blood and pus when it's fresh from the udder; it is then treated with even more antibiotics, and they don't even have to be listed as an ingredient!

So when trying to rid the body of yeast, foods treated with antibiotics would seem to be contra-indicated. I would say that especially in these circumstances, only organic dairy should be eaten.

So that's my ten cents for now, beebuddy. Give me some time to take a peak at my books at home and I'll see what else I can find.
