Hey everybody.I just got my new glasses today,I have needed a new pair for three years! But when I went there to pick them up,the optometrist asked if I knew I had two different sized pupils.I said no,and then asked if it is normal. She said its not normal, and that I should go to my doctor and have them check it out.So when I got home today I looked online and came across this page that states the causes for having different sized pupils and I have to say I am a little frightened now.Has anyone heard of this or know what it could mean? Here is the page that states the causes: http://health.allrefer.com/health/eyes-pupils-different-size-causes.html Tomorrow I am making an appointment with my doctor first thing when I wake up,but I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows any more on this. Thanks PeaceLove&Light ElizaIP: Logged |

My first, gut feeling (before clicking on the link): Neurological condition.Anyway, I know that when I had a migraine that lasted for 4 days, caused part of my face to go numb, and landed me in the ER, they checked for different sized pupils... (At that point, yes, they were slightly different...they got better ); and I've seen (live) animals hit by cars who's pupils have been uneven. Now, after having read the link... Maybe it's the result of a birth injury that was so slight that you've not noticed it til now...? Good luck @ the Doc's IP: Logged |

Hey thanks for responding.I also get migraines lately, but I guess this must be pretty recent because I had glasses about four or five years ago and they werent like that then.I called my doctor and told them about it and they sceduled me and appointment for monday morning. They are going to send me for some tests I guess, and hopefully everything will come back okay.If anyone else has anything on the subject, let me know.PeaceLove&Light Eliza IP: Logged |

Good! (Re: the Migraines...heh, never thought I'd say that...) Hopefully is was just a matter of your pupils being measured just as one was coming on (or threatining to do so).IP: Logged |

well I went to the doctor and she totally disregarded what was going on with my eyes and said I seem like I am very depressed and she prescribed anti-depressants.I called my mom at the hospital and told her and she said "I dont want you taking those anti-depressants,and im going to call your doctor."So she called and told her that I have been going through alot with my mom being in the hospital with leukiemia, just got out of a really bad relationship,of course I would be depressed with these things going on.She said I had been in a car accident last year, hit my head in the windshield, and she would really like it if they checked out my head in a catscan. So tomorrow I am going to the hospital to get a catscan and make sure everything is alright. Thanks for asking pix,and Ill let you know what happens tomorrow!!IP: Logged |

So my lab results and catscan came back fine, but now my doctor has prescribed me a low dose of an antidepressant called Lexapro.I dont know,my mother doesnt want me to take it,but lately I have been feeling like I cant control my emotions,I just start crying out of nowhere,or I feel extremely "high"or "manic" for an hour, then next hour Im very depressed.I try to live as naturally as I can, havent eaten pork since I was seven, then beef at 14,then chicken last year(and no other meats).I eat fish about once a month, only drink water and juices, fruits and veggies, nuts,no table salt, vitamins sometimes.I dont dye my hair, and the only soap I use is a all-natural lavender, rosemary, and tea tree soap with olive, coconut, palm oils, cocoa butter. So I am very torn about this.On one hand I feel how could I take a pill,it would be so unnatural, and could affect my body in an unhealthy way.And on the other hand,I have been battling depression all my life, have never felt as good about myself as I should, and what if this could help me?So I guess Im asking for advice,or any information you think would help.I am going to wait to get the presciption filled until I really decide whats best. Good luck, liza.I'm not too hot on prescription drugs myself (I never quite trust 'em), but in an instance such as this it may be the push needed to get some of your negative scripts turned around Look at it as a stepping stone for your mental health, not the be-all-and-end-all; work at it, get some good talk therapy, and see where it all goes from there. Hey Eliza..I'm really not a fan of prescription drugs either...they tried to put me on them after I went to the doc, at my request, because I was crying contstantly (like off-and-on all day!)...I looked up the side-effects, which I also suggest you do for yours, and it was not bad when you were on the drug, but the one they gave me had nasty withdrawl symptoms...so.... I decided against taking it, and started running 30-60 minutes a day, and sleeping and eating more conciously...I have felt amazing since, and the crying is not near as intense. I cry over small things, but it's not controlling my life anymore, thank the Lord.Just wanted to give you a heads up to check out the effects of the drug they prescribed you...make sure it's something you want to handle. Much and light, to you, dear Knowflake!
