It is not my area of knowledge unfortunately.. I suppose you acknowledge it though, therefore can try to remain conscious of the behaviours, and see if they control your life, rather than giving you a snse of control over your environment. Many people develop coping mechanisms to take control, and they end up eclipsing and taking over. It's silly and small, but I suggest googling it, otherwise a search engine, and seeing what pops up to hlp you.. if it works, great! More learning tools, if not, discard it and keep searching. Sunshineguy,I have a friend who has this and it appears to be a very disruptive disorder (I have AvPD and PTSD myself so can relate to what he's going through). Clinically they are going to prescribe you an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) which is also used with anxious and depressive disorders. There's an over-the-counter herb called St. John's wort (hypericum perforatum) which is a mild natural SSRI that might help you. If you become overwhelmed and need to visit a therapist they'll give you a stronger synthetic SSRI along some combo of CBT/talk therapy. IP: Logged |

You might want to try reading this great book: "The Essence of Healing" by Petrene Soames. It's pretty simple yet very effective.IP: Logged |
