I've had this problem since I was 15..anyone else have this problem? I can't go to bed, and I can't wake up. Most people pop out of bed at a certain time each morning....my body wants to sleep forever...whats worked for you, what hasn't?

I have the same problem. Can't get to bed early and can't wake up when I need to...Since I was a teenager also!

My internal clock is just naturally set that way I guess???

How many hours of sleep do you get on average? And what time do you usually get to bed, and fall asleep by?

What's worked for me....limiting distractions and noise...mental noise. Get into bed an hour or so before I plan to sleep and read something light and fluffy to get my mind off of day to day things. Problem Im having with this is that I can't get to bed because I feel there are still too many loose ends that I have to get around to before the day ends....so I don't sleep till at least a few hours after I planned to sleep by.

So maybe better organize my day, and make and follow an agenda?

What have you tried?

Ya putting yourself into bed an hour before and reading something light does help..but its so hard to put yourself in bed whne you still feel wired. I haven't ever tried a sleep aid, I don't believe in oral drugs unless i'm extremely ill....altho i am considering sleepy time tea with valerian (a natural herb)...i'll often do a bit of yoga/meditation before bed that helps...hot showers help too.

I typically fall asleep between 3am-4:30 am, and wake up between 12-1 pm....i know its rediculous, I'm a student tho so i can get away with it. There have been times in my life when i was forced to get up, and i dont' really like it that much....i prefer waking up in the late morning.

I havent really tried sleeping pills either...I'd have to depend on it regularly if I start because I keep going back to this bad sleeping schedule. Can't see that helping much anyways.

I heard sleepy time tea works very well....that's worth a try. Chamomille is also good for calming down at the end of day too. Meditation or yoga before bed is a good idea. Personally I just have to watch that I dont do any more work or errands after that, or I get wired again.

3-4:30 is very late!! But is that normal for students? I remember having the same sleeping schedule. Was bad because I missed alot of my morning classes. Now that Im working I go to sleep anywhere from 12-3:30am and wake up by 6:30-7am. Im always convince that I can handle going to bed so late. But hen I wake up I feel like sheot and just want to sleep the day away.

Too many distractions around that I know I need to get rid of....television, computer, telephone, radio...and people
