I have an exercise tape, that I'v had for over l5yrs., thank GOD, it now comes on DVD it is called Callenetics, and it does work, and work fast, there is no jumping, bending, it is just small movements, and it is for evey part of your body, it is wonderful, if you can get your hands on one, I know they are on ebay, the VHS tapes, not the DVD's, you can get them for pretty cheap, if you want the DVD, search Callenetics. I hope this helps.IP: Logged |

A great simple one is to lay on your side. And think of your legs as siscors. Lift one leg up and down for 10-15 reps and do 3-5 sets on each side. Ankle weights help a lot too. IP: Logged |

PILATES!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilates I do this workout that is really basic, I include the bands, ankle weights amd a weight ball that you strap on. I change it up and lift weights too. Less weight, more repetition. I also do squats ( nothing better!!) Instead of a basic squat ( it tends to hurt my knees the next day) I've ammended it to be done with a chair, so you aren't stressing your knees/joints too much. put one leg on a chair(knee bent), with enough room that you can dip down with the other leg. Alternate. Lots of floor /mat work. I swear, it is so empowering! I feel strong, and when I flex, you can see real defined muscle. Of course, I am still a woman, and curvy, it's my basic body type.... but working out has increased flexibiity and tone most definately! I was seeing good results back when I was skinnier too, but I put about five on in the winter. Damn Canadian winters!!! There is this great exercise called "The one Hundred" You basically lay down, engage your abdominals, with your legs in the air suspended lower if you can handle it for increased gravity resistance.. (and you will once you do it often enough) Put your hands straight in the air, toward your legs, and pump, like your fluttering your legs and arms together, toward each other. Do one hundred of these.. you do it so fast, in a rhythm where it doesn't feel like you're doing one hundred. But man oh man, you can feel it, It engages those core muscles. From that, I go into a 'bicycle' where you do the basic bicycle position, but your toes are pointed, and you touch your toe to the floor with each cycle pump. Great for quads and abs. I do it while watching the daily show, then the colbert report, and time barely goes on... or I do it while reading. Basic leg work with a weight strapped on..... small circles, larger circles, then suspend your leg ( like scissors) and do one side, up and down/circles, then suspend your upper leg, and engage your core muscles and lift your lower leg to meet your upper leg in the air, hold, release, etc. I can't tell you how much I enjoy working out. At home, no less!
