Forget vitamins, go for whole food supplements.Check out: www.rawfood.com www.dr-schulze.com ------------------ "To learn is to live, to study is to grow, and growth is the measurement of life. I agree whole foods are best, but the liquid suppliments I take have plant based minerals. That way I get some trace minerals. There are some chelated mins also. Way too many sups forget some of the essentuals like: Boron, Vanadium... Without Boron you can't build bone matter. You can take calcium, but it will do little good w/o the others that make it work. Chromium is noted for blood sugar & insulin regulation, but w/o vanadium it's not gonna work properly. And just because a liquid says "colloidal" dosn't mean that it is of a plant source; however, it is better than strait vitamin pills. Whole foods that are organically grown are better cuz the fertilizers used on factory farming are N.P.K. Nitrogen, Phosphorus & Potassium. Too much Phosphorus can actually push calcium out of your bones. There is no gate to keep P. out of your bones. There is a lot too how the body uses, or can't use nutritional suppliments. Centrum & One a day- throw in the garbage. You can email me for more info on sups. IP: Logged |

The minerels they use aren't even chelated, so basically-let's say there's 100mg of calcium- that means your body can only absorb about 10%. So if you're lucky you'll get 10mg that your body can use.If the minerels are chelated it brings absorption up to 30-40%. Still the minerals are in rock form-not intended for human consumption. They're ok, but getting minerals in a whole food sup, like the link above, or plant based liquids your body has a much harder time trying to use it. IP: Logged |

Most supplements are made from things your body can't absorb. Shouldn't vitamin C be made from good whole foods like oranges? Try asking a vitamin company what it uses to make its C line, or any other line for that matter. Additionally, most herbs, etc., are grown in developing countries where pesticides aren't regulated, so they are laden with toxins. Then when shipped to the U.S. (or whatever other country), they are sprayed with more pesticides. By the time these supplements reach you, they are literally worthless. This is why people don't get well with vitamins.Buy the highest grade you can. Buy organic or wild-harvested. Make your own supplements. www.pacificbotanicals.com It's not difficult, I make some of my own tinctures. Organic greens mixtures that include wheat grass, spirulina, etc., can often fulfill most of your daily needs. Dr. Schulze's superfood is a good example. www.herbdoc.com. ------------------ Everything feels possible. Perhaps more is possible than we think. -P.H. IP: Logged |

Eleanore...Dr. Schulze is one of my heros. I make several of his tinctures myself (he has allowed the recipes to be published).

I have to say thanks to you, trillian, because it was because of your posts that I found out about Dr. Schulze. And what a difference it has made! ------------------ "To learn is to live, to study is to grow, and growth is the measurement of life.
