I've noticed the last few months my hormones are getting weirder. I get monthly pimples now, which I haven't had for a long time (I'm 31), emotional PMS, and my last period lasted almost five days instead of the usual three. This period, it's slower to get 'started' properly and I feel tired and just plain not well... Could this be a serious problem? Or something I can just put down to stress?I take evening primrose oil and zinc (for my skin), but maybe I should switch back to chaste tree extract, which I took years ago when my PMS was very bad... ? Have you had your doctor check your hormone levels? It could be the reason for your periods being different. Stress could definitely be part of it. Are you on birth control? Reason I ask about BC, is I had been taking it nonstop for some 12 years and started to feel really tired, sometimes dizzy and blah, just no energy. I went to the doctor, she checked everything but didn't mention it could be the BCP. Something told me to stop taking it. I let it get out of my system, and after about 3-4 months I felt great again. My hormones have been acting up lately, my face breaking out for no reason whatsoever. Very frustrating. Right now my skin is okay...but it's an awful feeling to have my face break out again like I'm 13... I hope you feel better  IP: Logged |

Thanks, BlueTopaz... no, I'm not on birth control and haven't used any synthetic hormones for about a year (the morning after pill on one occasion about a year ago, before that I took it once a few years ago and also had the Depo injection one time). Synthetic hormones don't agree with me at all, so I avoid them.I haven't had my hormone levels checked, but if this continues next month I may just do that. Thanks for the suggestion.  The face breakouts are horrible... just when you think that part of your life is in the past! IP: Logged | |
