Has a doctor diagnosed you? With antibiotics, bacteria will always come back because the antibiotics kill not just the bad bacteria but also the good! Then, it's easier for the bad bacteria to grow back unless you replace the good bacteria that was lost. It is SO IMPORTANT to take acidophilus to repopulate your intestines with good bacteria as soon as you finish a course of antibiotics! This is vitally important for your digestive system health! As an alternative to antibiotics, try a natural antibiotic like pau d'arco instead. Personally I would check into the fact that you are passing blood. Get a medical diagnosis on that. And then, if necessary seek help from a herbalist or naturopath if you want to avoid the use of antibiotics. Good luck!

hi GeminiLover75,yes i was diagnosed by a doctor, he said its nothing serious only the infection had spread into the inner walls of intestines thts y the blood and he just asked me to take the antibiotics... its so irrittating sometimes...these docs they dnt elaborate on anything! if i am not wrong i think this acidophilus mentioned by u is nothing but Lactobacillus? found in yoghurt, right? well, i was prescribed this too by the doc..and then i was just fine... but now it has occured again. yes as u said i think i will seek a herbalist or naturopath, i dnt like taking allopathy mdecinies. i need a permanent solution to this. thank u so much. and cud u pls tell me more abt pau d'arco or where i can find more info regarding this?

What type of infection? Pau'darco may help, but It is usually used more for fungi. Garlic(Pickled) is great for most microbes. My dad ate about 6 a day for about a month, and the wart on his elbow went away. It also doesn't kill the good bacteria(flora). Another great one is ginger. It helps with digestive problems, and it is also a strong antimicrobal. Green tea with minced ginger will help the painful symptoms too. I get minced ginger in the produce section by the minced garlic. I get the pickled garlic from the Cracker Barrel restaurant. Or you could get these at the health food store. Pau'darco can be bought in bulk from www.pacificbotanicals.com To make a tincture you put the herbs in a jar-about 1/2-3/4 full then add vodka till the jar is full. Shake it every day for 2 weeks then strain out the herbs with a cloth. Throw the herbs away & keep the liquid. Most tinctures are taken 1 or 2 tablespoons 3-4 times a day. If you're dealing with a virus use olive leaf the same way as pau'darco. Give the garlic & ginger a try. I think you will be amazed. ------------------ "When the student is ready the teacher will appear" IP: Logged |

AL,I'm with you on not liking the effects of antiobiotics on my system, but if it's amoebiasis, you DO need to take the antibiotics to fight it off!! Please don't stop taking them; there's no other way of tackling an infection like that. If you can get acidophilus milk where you live, it helps to repopulate your system so you won't feel the negative effects of the antibiotics. I won't drink anything else; it really works! If not, the acidophilus capsules work just as well. Hope you feel better soon! Sunshine IP: Logged |

I had another thought - have you ever had Hepatitis A shots? THey help protect you from getting all this gastritis, and they're good for 10 years. Ask your doctor; s/he can administer them if you've never had them before. Sunshine IP: Logged |

Hi AL,I do agree with Sunshine9 that you shouldn't just stop antibiotic treatments unless you are really sensitive to them. You can take garlic & ginger with the meds. And definatelly get some pro-biotics to replace those killed by the anti-biotics. Still keep boiling the water. Hit this infection from every direction! Keep us updated. Hope you fell better soon. ------------------ "When the student is ready the teacher will appear" IP: Logged |

Leonine, Glad to know u are ok now.. I suggest you keep away and avoid eating food in restaurants or outside for a while. Home made cooked food is best shot . My freind had ambeosis ,resulting from eating out regualry ..she stopped that on a doc's advise and a month later she was fit again. take care------------------ "The grand essentials of happiness are:something to do, soemthing to love and something to hope for" IP: Logged |

Sue,Great link, but he forgot garlic. That is probably cuz most ppl can't bear the thought of eating it. I made a tincture out of olive leaf. That is the best thing for viruses. It does, however, taste really bitter. What was that Mary Poppins said? "A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down." Or at least something tasty. When I went to a Kineseologist for testing on the right choices for teeth filling material, I found out that my body doesn't like colloidal silver. It wanted olive leaf for digestive bacteria. Even if you're not allergic to a substance, your body may not like it anyway. A Kineseologist can tell everything that the body does & doesn't like. That's cool! ------------------ "When the student is ready the teacher will appear" IP: Logged |

Yeah, try eating garlic and ginger daily in diet. Indian food (especially dal and chicken curry ) has good quantity in them. At end of meal or for breakfast eat one cup yogurt daily. Yogurt shld be home made with live culture. Neem might help too, I'm not sure. Neem is good for teeth and skin infections usually. Also never eat too much of neem as it affects the brain.
http://www.neemwell.com/ quote: ....traditional use of neem bark... Abdominal pain: Crush 3" x 3" of bark and keep in 1 cup of water for 10 minutes. Strain and then drink. Dosage; 1 cup of infusion is taken in the morning and evening for 2 days.Diarrhoea: 1 cup of bark bits can be put in 1.5 glasses of water to soak for half an hour. Strain and then drink. Dosage; 1 cup is taken in the morning, noon and night for 3 days.
