Hi jani_jean,

It is possible that you are sensative to one or more of the pool additives. Could be that India has different chemicals than Australia. Try one swim, and see what happens. If the same happens you may be allergic to chlorine type chems.

You could ask a dermatologist. They may have some insight into this phenomenon.

Jani_jean,

You could also try using Sunblock - the higher the SPF (Sun Protection Factor), the better (we get up to SPF-45 or SPF-50 here in the US). It not only protects you from harmful UVA/UVB rays, it might also keep you from tanning a whole lot. Don't forget to get the waterproof kind & reapply as needed!
