Hi sunchild,What a brilliant idea that girl had to try out this experiment.
So does the same hold good for Humans as well? We dont drink microwave heated water as suchj but if we cook cereals or rice in the microwave? ------------------

I gave away my microwave a while ago. I rarely eat anything from the microwave.But this is one of my problems with Dr. McDougall. Are you familiar with him, SunChild? He's a huge advocate of a very low fat, vegan diet. And I think a good deal of what he writes is very sound. However...he eschews almost all fats and nuts, too. But worse than that, he's a big advocate of microwaving food! He says that cooking in the microwave sans fat is more important and better for you than cooking with oils. Personally, after much reading, I think the microwave does horrible things to food. He's also fine with non-stick cookware. I gave that stuff away ages ago because of the potential health risks. Some days, my head spins. *sigh* He does have some very good points, and good advice on other levels, though.

thank you so much for that link! i have always known that microwaves are bad for you- but a lot of people think i think too much about stuff like this. my boyfriend thinks i 'extrapolate' too much! i think most people just go with the status quo, heuristics and such. i am not that kind of person though :Pi am sending this link to all my friends! it is a great visual representation of what microwaves can do to living organism's health! thanks again  ------------------

wow..that's kinda freaky.  No microwave in our house..nope nope nope.
(no non-stick cookware either!) We had one a couple years ago when we were in colorado because my husband won it in a contest at work but we had no problem leaving it behind when we moved. We use a toaster oven for reheating things and it works like a charm! IP: Logged |
