I am calling on all Knowflakes to respond and participate in this thread! *Together* we can spiral ideas on how we can create a better world in 2007; by helping others, reducing carbon dioxide emissions to help reduce global warming, recycle more, volunteer in our communities, etc. How can we help the citizens of other third world countries, such as those in Africa? We can write to our congress representatives and urge them to vote for legislation that sends aid to other countries. We can improve our own health; when we are healthier we feel better: When we feel better, we are happier. When we are happier, we spread positive energy out to others. This positive energy emanates outward to others..........then the world will be more positive. Please give me more ideas! Thank You! IP: Logged |

Send all your white light to the middle east and to africa. They need it and we have it. This will help a lot. Please take a minute each day to do this. Use a globe if it helps put your focus right. Thanks. IP: Logged |

That is a great website, AG! How did you find it? I love the nutritional info. on the front page, because I am always reading those! Did you know you can make a webpage there? Great Thread Nephthys, and also ace website AG.I would say to everyone, change your everyday life. Buy appliances that produce less emissions, buy long lasting light bulbs. Turn everything off at the power point. Use the resources you have wisely. Do not waste what you have. Plant a tree. Recycle and buy recycled products Don't use the dishwasher until it is full. I think the best thing to do is small steps. It's all well to tell other countries how to do something, but it is better to lead by example so they can see that it works. Look for companies that care for the environment. Take your lunch to work. Walk or ride a bike rather than drive. Volunteer in your local community. Help those that need it. Get yourself out of debt. Do something you love to do! Smile every morning. Listen to the birds sing, watch the pigeons. Take time out to value the small things. Love the weather no matter what it is. Jump in the puddles, walk in the sun. Write to those in government. Find like minded people. Love the planet. Make Earth your home, not a place you live. Understand why you are here. Follow your inner song. Play with your children if you have them. Read. Make time for the small things. Be positive. Fight the fears! Listen to music - dance - paint - cook. Make someone laugh. Stop someone from crying. Give the one you love a hug. Like they say "7 degrees of seperation" it won't take long for things to change if people make steps at home. And last but not least: Pray for those that you cannot directly help. That way the prayer will reach someone who can. "Star light! Star bright! The first star I see tonight!..........." Many have already mentioned things to do to improve our world, but what about things not to do?I think that restraint is the most important part of improving the world, it really is more about inaction than about action. All the major problems we see are due to lack of restraint. Things not to do to improve our world: Don't use harsh speech Don't litter Don't steal or kill people Don't hit people or abuse them verbally Don't lie These seem pretty basic but it's funny how most people can't even abide by these!!

Sometimes I find it tiresome to go against the grain and have to explain myself so much, to people who will dismiss based upon a word that goes against their personal norm, or comfort. So how about.. being honest about my personal choices and explaining them in a concise non frustrated way, no matter what cost to my stores of patience, or image. Like Cloth diapering. Homebirthing non cicumcision composting/using the city wide green bins/recycling as much as possible Buying an inconvenient truth not for me, but to lend it out to people, only because once people see it, they seem to understand. ( Beyond what I can ever say) There is so much more.... all the things that are consuming me lately... Great thread!!!

Ausra,Nice to meet you ~ I see you've been here awhile but I never met you before. I saw your picture and you look nice. Thanks for your great list! I especially like "take your lunch to work"......I take mine to work and/or school. BlueRoamer, Good points! Pixelpixie, Hey! Why *do* we have to explain ourselves? Maybe we should just say "because this works best for me." btw, how are you doing, and when are you due? IP: Logged |

Hi Nephthys, it's nice to finally talk to you to. I seem to pop in, stay for a while then disappear. Which of course doesn't lend itself to getting to know others very well. I'll try to be consistant this time!!!! (I'll blame mars/moon conjuct in Pisces!!) I didn't think I had a pic of myself anywere??????? I am going to on myspace soon but as yet nothing. Soo it must be someone else, or I have completely forgotten!!!! hehee...IP: Logged |

Ausra, BlueRoamer Thanks for starting this thread, Nephthys For me, I will- Try to use the energy/force that I have to deal with people or situations in a positive way- especially toward the individuals who seem to be working against me; by turning my bitterness, resentment, contempt and pain into positive, constructive force and circulating it back to them, and to myself, eventually, the positive force circulates back to me. The point is, all individuals and entities benefit from positive forces. There are men and women who are my strong opponents but as the same time we are involved in the same field and most of them are my seniors, and it is an art to find the way to deal with them- positively. And I'm seriously thinking about making my own sandwiches- including one for lunch as well IP: Logged |
