I remember reading in one of Linda’s books about the Hippocratic oath. Something that went like” touch not that part of the body with metal, which is ruled by the sign through which the moon is passing.”…That was in my words because I cannot remember the exact sentence. Besides this she had also mentioned that if you want your hair or nails to grow faster then you should cut just a wee bit on the apex of the new moon. Then there was something about surgeries and if you want to get ‘something’ (I’m assuming she meant something like a tumor?) removed from your body it should be done in the waning phase. My mom also believes that cutting the hair on the day of the new moon makes it grow faster. And I think in general the new moon is seen as an auspicious day to start something new. What I’d like to know from all you Knowflakes is your experiences or take on this. Another thing that I was wondering about is when is a good time to start medication? What I mean is during which phase (waxing, waning, full moon, new moon) is it beneficial to start medication? Looking forward to your replies...

theres a book by donna cunnigham (i have it but have misplaced it), called Moon Signs: The key to your inner life. And its very revealing. It does talk about under which moon sign should you do this or that.you'd enjoy it. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?WRD=Moon+Signs%3A+The+Key+to+Inner+Life&z=y IP: Logged |

I believe someday we will discover the connection between the moon and the body. The body is composed of over 70% water, we know what effect the moon has on tides, therefore it must affect us as well! I'm sure it has significant effect on hormonal and neurotransmitter levels. The planets may play some role as well, in addition to the earth's changing magnetic field, we have a lot of iron in our body that responds to magnetism. Someday I hope medical science will open up abit, especially in the US, and allow for more prevention etc... For the time being we need to work on getting rid of all the toxins and carcinogens in our environment, yuck! IP: Logged |

i believe we know some of it already, our emotions, fertility, childbearing, menstrual cycles. (the moon actually shares a lot with ceres, since they both represent 'mothering')heres a site on ceres and the other major asteroids) http://www.geocities.com/stacydavidoff/Asteroids.html i'm highlighting the ceres section for you right here: quote: Ceres - the Mother We see themes of both Ceres and her daughter, Persephone, reflected in this asteroid. Ceres exists in modern folklore as "Mother Earth", she governs solid foods which the earth provides such as vegetables, fruit and especially grains as well as nutrition and cooking. Someone with Ceres in the 10th house could be a chef , farmer or nutritionist. Ceres in the 6th house in hard aspect with Neptune can show someone with food allergies. The house in your chart which contains Ceres shows the area of life that you nurture or feel nurtured by or if Ceres is harshly aspected perhaps you crave nurturing in this area instead. Is Ceres in your 9th house? Then it's your philosophies that nurture you. Is Ceres in your fourth? Then you need your privacy. Ceres can tell us what kind of foods the individual likes (along with the 6th house) Ceres in Aries tends to like spicy foods, Ceres in Pisces will probably love sea food. I have Ceres in Taurus in a stellium which includes Venus and I love sweets, especially chocolates. Positive attributes of Ceres: Hard Work Mothering particularly of older children (mothering babies and young children belongs to Moon) Nurturing Foster parenting Food, nutrition, cooking Farming/gardening Negative attributes of Ceres: Grieving Mother D or grief Abduction / kidnapping especially when in hard aspect with Pluto Strikes, refusal to work Child custody issues. Eating disorders

I would say neptune, that we intuitively feel a connection to the moon, but there isn't solid indisbutible evidence. I'm arguing under the framework of science here, however, which is not a framework that many of the people on this board are familiar with. IP: Logged |

i agree, but i was only stating what i knew, because you didn't mention evidence, but i agree on the science part.------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "Our passions are not too strong, they are too weak.
