Does anyone use this? I'm interested to know how it works for you. I've just recently discovered that coconut oil hand cream is the best hand cream I've ever tried, and that a soap I bought today that contains coconut oil leaves my hands feeling nice too!IP: Logged |

Hey there, I just started using Coconut oil on my skin and I cannot tout it enough!! I have been using a lot of healthy medical alternatives thanks to www.earthclinic.com. Coconut oil is great for the skin, also great to eat, as it acts and a blood cleanser and general detoxer. I have also started drinking Apple cider vinegar every morning, and in the past two weeks my skin looks radiant, no more carpal tunnel issues and no more achy joints and bones. I feel great and really healthy. Oh yeah, i've also quit aspartame in the past two weeks which I think really helps. I miss my diet coke, but do not miss being poisoned by the asparatame.Sorry, off topic from the coconut oil..it is great, I would reccomend going to an organic store and getting organic coconut oil. My skin has never felt softer. Also, I've been rubbing it on my cats' fur and they are softer and smoother and have stopped scratching.... IP: Logged |

That's so cool! Do you put the coconut oil all over your body and your face? Is it ok for sensitive skin?I got some apple cider vinegar as a salad dressing. Do you just put some in water every day? IP: Logged |

I've been doing some research, and it seems that coconut oil is the best natural thing out there for moisturising and anti-ageing! Apparently some people can break out from using it on their face... but most people don't. I have sensitive skin and I do break out with certain products, but I'm willing to risk it - I'll look for some organic virgin coconut oil today and start using it as a night-time treatment. I've been using rosehip oil for years but I'm curious to see if this is better! I also plan on using it after-shower as a body moisturiser. I'll let you all know what I think of it!(If I'm not impressed I may try avocado oil next). IP: Logged |

I've been using coconut oil as a night treatment for three days now, and so far I love it! My skin has NEVER looked as good as it has in the last few days. This really is excellent stuff and I recommend it! IP: Logged |

I love it, especially in the winter when you don't want to put on freezing cold lotion-haha. It keeps your legs or whatever part moist for a long while, so you don't need to reapply and reapply. Which is why it's loved. I use it in the summer a lot too.IP: Logged |

True Babeefoxx, I've used oil on my body for maybe 10 years now simply because (well, apart from the fact it's so good for your skin) I don't like body lotions - they're too cold, thick and unnatural feeling for me. Make sure you don't go out in the sun with coconut oil on! I know oil on your skin is good for helping you get a tan, but the melanoma risk freaks me out - using it at night after you've been in the sun would be awesome though. (Freaky, I was just talking about this topic to my bf - there was a girl in Australia, aged 24, who died recently of melanoma... so sad. ) IP: Logged |

Hey again,Regarding the Coconut oil and melanoma fears, many people historically have actually used Coconut oil as a sunscreen, it promotes healthy tanning. I'll try to find some more research on why..here's the quote I found..."L What conditions does coconut oil help to treat? BF Topically it seems to be able to benefit almost any skin condition. I wouldn't say that it can cure every type of skin condition, but I've seen a wide variety of conditions improve-and sometimes completely vanish-with the use of coconut oil. It can help speed healing of cuts and burns; there's a long tradition in the islands of using coconut oil as a sunscreen. It is great for fungal infections such as ringworm and athlete's foot. People tell me how they have used medicated treatments without success, but when they use coconut oil it does the job. There is evidence that coconut oil helps prevent osteoporosis. One of the interesting things about coconut oil is that it helps improves nutrient absorption. It improves absorption of minerals such as calcium and magnesium and thus aid in preventing osteoporosis. Also, it increases absorption of some of the B vitamins, the fat-soluble vitamins: A, D, E, K, beta-carotene, and some amino acids. Because of it is easily digested, provides a quick and easy source of nutrition, and improves absorption of other nutrients coconut oil has been recommended in the treatment of malnutrition. Coconut oil has many other uses. Research has shown it can be useful in the treatment and prevention of obesity. A lot of research is current being done in this area. Studies show it may be helpful in preventing liver disease, kidney disease, Crohn's disease, cancer and many infectious illnesses such as the flu, herpes, bladder infections, and candida, to mention just a few. Studies are now being done to test it effectiveness against serious illness such as AIDS and SARS. Preliminary results have been very promising." I'm loving my skin since I started with the coconut oil, my face seems to be dewrinkling and my overall skin is so soft and smooth and usually this time of year, I'm starting to chafe as the humidity levels in DC go down. Plus, my boyfriend wants to eat me up cause I taste yummy, another nice benefit of the coconut oil. IP: Logged |

I just did a search. At the Curezone forums, there's a thread about coconut oil and sunblock. A few people there reported trying coconut oil as a sunscreen, and they still got burned. IP: Logged |
