all opinions welcome please. including the effects of all raw foods on the physical and spiritual bodies. i once had a friend tell me this diet would have a negative (unbalancing) effect on the astral body. IP: Logged |

Did he explain why he thought it would have a negative effect on your astral body? I would think an all raw food diet would have the exact opposite effect - given it's as close to nature and the universe as you can get. IP: Logged |

from experience... I was all raw for about 18 months at one stage and I remember feeling lighter in my astral body and often had more clarity in remembering my astral experiences. I didn't note anything unbalancing about it.IP: Logged |

my friend actually told me in a letter so i will post part of it here so that you can understand my question a little better... "In our spiritual bodies, the astral and the etheric exist in a balanced interplay of sorts. kind of like yin and yang. the plant kingdom can be described as basically etheric, whereas animals are astral. in the etheric, everything is opposite- as madonna of rock fame even knew, in the etheric, her vagina was a penis...anyway, eating only plants which are etheric, feeds your astral body...."
and earlier in the letter she wrote: "it's not always about the nutrition. all too often raw food converts, as well as advocates of other radical dietary protocols, possess a near frenzied religious fervor, attaching spiritual, puritanical, even moralistic significance to the virtues of their "superior" 100% raw, vegan, or vegetable food diet. coined "orthorexia nervosa" in Health Food Junkies by Dr. Steven Bratman and David Knight, this phenomenon is commonly observed within every health food community. unfortunatly, it ends up being dysfunctional and unsustainable, reflecting a self-indulgent, obsessive need to control and be right, with a bottom line that essentially makes the enjoyment of eating into a guilty vice. the naive belief that you're holding the trump card is an attitude that keeps humanity constantly on the skids, locked in our endless religious wars." just wondering others opinions on this take of "raw food diets"
