has anyone done this cleanse before? if so what was you're experience like. i have a few health issues that i know must be all interrelated and i'm curious as to if this could be beneficial. it sounds wonderful in theory. i would love to hear how you did it, what you felt before, during and after, complications, how long you cleansed for, and if you have more than once. also if you did the cleanse when you were thin, and if you lost any weight, and if it came back easily.
thanks to all who reply!

If you follow the Master Cleanse for the recommended minimum of ten days, you will go through several stages.

After the first day, I was tired, lethargic and had a headache that only sleep could relieve.

By the end, I was calm, euphoric even. Felt light and clean and wonderful.

You will also be very sensitive to cold.

There are loads of websites about the Master Cleanse.
Basically it's lemon juice water and maple syrup....and that's it!

I did try a colon cleanse followed by a liver flush for a week.
Day 1.....Aaargh
Day 2.....Aaargh
Day 3.....Kill me now!
Day 4.....I have no friends because I now live in the toilet.

Day 5 Liver Flush. What else is there to do on a Friday night but drink olive oil and lie rigid in bed groaning?

Day 6 Kerching!!!!
Day 7 I feel pretty, oh so pretty, oh so pretty and witty and light...la la la la la la la la lalala lala....

Would I do it again?
You betcha!!

Hey bunnies

Loved your account of the week...

So what will I do exactly, I was planning a detox with organic soups, tofu, mung beans ect, but yours sounds good.
I found the website on master cleanse but it doesn't say what to take or anything ~ it just speaks about the results. another one with similar results is www.blessedherbs.com
I have fasted before but only for 2 days on red grape juice, but I'm determied to do it for longer this time.
So please tell me what ever you know of it ~

much appriciated x

I'm also interested in any info on some good Cleanses.

My Fiance and I would like to do ours in the spring to be in sync with Nature. I haven't yet looked into any, as this was just suggested to us. Specifically the colon cleansing.

I'll take a look at that Master Cleanse.

Haven't done the Master Cleanse, but here's what Yogi Tea says:

The Master Cleanse ~

Ayurveda recommends lemon juice as a good overall purifier that helps to cleanse the digestive tract. The Ayurvedic Master Cleanse mixes lemon juice, water and honey (or other natural sweetener), with a pinch of cayenne and clove. This drink helps dissolve and eliminate toxins and congestion from the kidneys, digestive system, glands, joints, muscles and blood stream.*

The recipe for the Master Cleanse is:
Make up daily
60 oz water
12 tblsp maple syrup
12 tblsp lemon juice
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Divide into six glasses
Before starting take a laxative (Epsom salts?)
And drink (yeah right!) 32 oz water with 2 tsp salt. It's called a saline wash.

But there is a journal online which is where I got this from www.yestheyrefake.net/lemonade cleanse_diet_

And that pretty much describes everything.

The colon cleanse and liver flush?

I purchased a bottle of Colosan, which I have to say I think is just Epsom salts in a capsule. Easier to take but 20 times more expensive and without the awful taste of Epsom.
What is that taste ????
I did this for 6 days.

Expect to live in the toilet and waft around with an accompanying odour when you're not, that still suggests you should be.
Do not travel far good people.

You will now have reached the stage wherein you have no insides left.

2 days before the liver flush drink copious amounts of apple juice. The malic acid softens the stones.

The day of liver flush do not consume any fat and do not eat anything after 2 pm (trust me, this isn't difficult)

At 6 pm take a hefty dose of our old friend Epsom salts.
At 10 pm drink 1/2 cup of olive oil and half cup lemon juice.
If you drink a swig of each alternately the lemon juice negates the olive oil so it's not as bad as you fear.

IMMEDIATELY!!! Go to bed, lie on your right side with your knees drawn up to your chin and do not move for 30 mins.
Sleep.

In the morning take some more Epsom.
Watch interesting results in toilet bowl
.
This is the most exciting thing that will happen to you all week because by now all your friends will have deserted you because

a. You stink
b. You keep dashing off in mid conversation shreiking "Get outta the way"

Have a restful day.
Next day?
I feel pretty...oh so pretty....I feel pretty and witty and light...la la la la lala

And here is my disclaimer:
Attempt this at your own discretion and if you can afford to lose a week of your life!!

I'm looking foward to it
*off shopping now for lemons, cayenne pepper and mayple syrup

I have noticed that mother nature is the best driver when it comes to health. We must not interrupt that process. If the disease has manifested on the outside then its a different story.

I have a question. What if after this cleanse, our system is invaded with much stronger germs?

I want real peoples testimony before i take such a step.

Hi Mannu

I personally would not entertain such thoughts because as you know thoughts are what create our experiences. If I found myself thinking like that I'd affirm my health and good intentions for my body.

I trust life and what I am guided toward whether its a location, a book or a fast. I know that I'd benefit greatly from this cleanse at this time. Its about trusting and knowing yourself.

In saying that I read a bit about it earlier on line, there's real life versions and FAQ's ect, here's the links~
http://healthandlight.com/themastercleanse.pdf
http://www.geocities.com/hotsprings/spa/7244/master_cleanse.hmtl
http://www.cyberclass.net/mastercleanser.htm

I hope that works if not just google 'master cleanse ebook'
join me, it'll be worth it.

Hi CK

I have been on the Master Cleanse for almost 5 days now and I have been very active, I did a weight training session this morning, spinning classes over the wknd and have been generally very active. The lemon juice, mayple-syrup and cayenne drinks provide you with enough energy and keep you going and strong.

Here are some useful sites with info on a better diet for when you are finished the cleanse because among other great benefits you will more that likely change your eating habits for the better.

I remember another one of your posts about the blue flashing lights, here check this out www.crystalinks.com/twin_flames.html

I really encourage you and everybody else to try the Master Cleanse its great

Captain Kirk. I have trained body builders for 20 yrs (i am female but i trained both sexes) and I suggest you tread very carefully doing the Master Cleanse.

As you know muscle growth depends on the fuel it is given and as there is nil protein intake on the cleanse, at some point, regardless of weight training or not, your body will cannibalise it's own muscle tissue for fuel.
This is not a good look people (think of the saggy skinned effect that anorexics have) This is a result of muscle tissue being chewed up and it can happen really quickly.

Have you ever looked at how quickly the muscle tone in your legs shrinks if you spend even one day in bed?

I have no issue with the cleanse as such but I think you should realise that it is a form of fasting. There is no protein intake at all and I do not advise training whilst on it.

Wow there is a lot of advice on this thread. I dont do diets any more. Its not that I am superior, just that fad diets make me grumpy.

This is my diet suggestions: eat in moderation, drink plenty of water, get out and about in the fresh air, talk with some great friends and enjoy your life.

Rubina! How is the Master cleanse going?
Have you

a. Succumbed to the lure of forbidden foods and as we speak, are stuffing your face with chocolate crying "Somebody stop me, it's too beautiful!

b. Fainted clean away through lack of nutrients and haven't the strength to raise a cup to your lips, let alone type?
OR

c.Are bouncing off the walls with a renewed sense of well being singing "I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and light la la la la lalalalala....

If you have stuck with it what are you currently feeling like?
You have only 6 days to go till you can eat a giant Easter egg!!

Hey Bunnies

I finally made it, its has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but well worth. I did 9 days.

Day 1&2~ went quite well because I was so enthusiastic about it.

Day 3~ the novelty began to wear off and hunger began to bite me hard.

Day 4&5~ I was weak, tired and hungry but determined to keep going.

Day 6&7~ were the hardest for me with energy fluctuations and emotional turbulance, I didn't know if I was coming or going.

the last few days were the easiest to get through, with my goal in sight and being able to feel the physical benefits of it.

I am so impressed with the cleanse that I am starting another one in tuesday. and because I didnt break it as recomended. The cleanse has inspired me to change my whole diet and lifestyle, I am researching a vegan~raw diet.

Thanx for asking Bunnies, and its funny~ when I got your message I was enjoying some beautiful chocolates xo

Wow!!! Well done. I am impressed (says she, who would have succumbed by lunchtime on day 1!
I would be interested to hear what the physical effects are e.g weight loss, muscle tone, bowel habits (sorry!) and any other things you noticed.
Take it easy on the second cleanse. How long do you intend to stay on it for?

I can picture you now Rubina. St Paddys day. Face first in a Lindt chocolate truffle egg (sigh)......Enjoy!!

I stayed active on most days~ gym classes & light weight training, on the other days I took long walks, outdoor cycles and trampolining, yoga/stretching and a total rest day in there aswell. I lost 8lbs ~ now 9st. I didn't notice any decline in muscle tone, I noticed my muscle definition more with the lost layer of fat.

I slept so well on the fast, I enjoyed the best, deepest slumber I have had in a long time or probably ever had and with amazingly vivid dreams.

Bowel movements usually happened in the morning with the help of sienna leaf herb tea, without it I doubt anything would happen, with there being nothing in my system it made my tum a little crampy and made it runny. I did the salt water flush a few times aswell and it gave similar results.

I wasn't as cranky a I thought I would be without food but oh how I longed for it and apriciated it before my body adapted to the cleanse at day 7.

I am really glad I did it but wish I stayed on it for longer as it is so benefical. I'm hoping to 40 days next, one day at a time, with the intention of totally transforming my life in these times of huge change.

Thanx for recommending it Bunnies, I loved it! xxx Happy St Patrick's Day xxx

Steady on Rubina! I think 40 days is WAAAYY too excessive.
I think the reccommended time is max 10 days.
Please be careful sweetie and don't tread into dangerous territory.
I know you are aware, having read your posts but just make sure you check the guidelines on the website.

I think a safe way would be to maybe eat normally for 5 days a week and then cleanse for 2 over 40 days.

I would hate to think I ever put you on to something that could compromise your health in any way so please take care x
