Good idea! Here's an interesting blog I happened upon earlier today. This led me here where there were real world suggestions for how everyone can get involved and make a difference. IP: Logged |

Think about how AIDS affects you. React to the threat of AIDS around the world. Act by getting involved with a local AIDS service organization.Get Involoved Where: On the web, of course, and in the real world too! Links to cool sites are posted above or do a search around the web. Why: Because AIDS is not over and because you can make a difference. Every weblog, journal and personal site on the web has a different audience, a collection of friends, family and peers who look to it for information important to its publisher. Focus on AIDS for one day -- World AIDS Day -- and help spread information about the disease, its treatment, those we have lost and those who survive. Because AIDS is not over and because you can make a difference.

Beautiful contribution of feelings artlovesdawn!I too recall when the whole concept of AIDS was newly introduced. All the crazy theories spread about and of course the idea that you could only get it if you were gay. Many said it was a punishment from God for sinful behaviors and such... Over the years we've learned so much more about this. Sad and sureal! Seems that what was once thought of as a rare occurance is now worldwide and effects everyone. Each of us are bound to know or meet someone within our lives that has this, if we ourselves are not actually the one experiencing it firsthand. Who would have thought it would become this HUGE??? Lala, Thank you for your thoughts to bring this to the forums IP: Logged |
