Hi there..I just like to know if you have an over active sacral chakra do you balance it with the opposite colour to orange, which would be blue?

Do I eat blue foods and wear blue clothing?

Also the music note for the throat chakra (which is blue) is Music note G, so do I balance an over active sacral by listening to this music note?

Cus I assume if I listen to music note D which is for the sacral chakra and eat orange foods and wear orange clothes then that would amplify it more..which i do not want!

I just want to balance it by calming the over-active sacral chakra.

Thx

I am not an expert in this field, I just know from personal experience that treating it with color therapy and the like is kind of the same as treating an illness with tablets... treating the symptoms instead of going through why there is an imbalance and the best treatment is going to address the cause and underlying emotional issues.
You have to approach this kind of thing holistically IMO.
Treating symptoms are fine as long as you go to the cause.

I found an article that perfectly articulates what I wanted to convey to you.

~*~

The second energy center within your body has symbolic connections to the decisions you make in life. Understanding your motivations can help you choose more wisely.

Your thoughts, feelings, and actions are prompted by an internal decision influenced by a multitude of factors. According to Caroline Myss, "The challenge of the second chakra is to learn what motivates us to make the choices we do." Review the following description of the sacral chakra to discover why you've chosen certain paths in your life and the role swadhisthana plays.
What is the Sacral Chakra?

The second chakra, or swadhisthana, is an invisible wheel of energy located just below the naval in the lower abdominal area. Sacral energy affects the sexual organs, lower spine, large intestines and bladder. Emotional and mental associations include decision-making skills, power and control, addictive tendencies, sex and relationships, and creativity.
Sacral Chakra as the Seat of Creativity

Rooted in second chakra energy, you have the power of choice to create your own reality. Creative power of the sacral chakra can be motivated by faith and love or by fear and negativity. With healthy reasoning and wise choices, the results of your decisions are likely to be positive. However, irrational or fear-based decision-making can create disruptions and imbalances in your life.
Imbalanced Sacral Chakra Energy

Overactive or underactive sacral energy can not only manifest physically (low back pain, reproductive diseases, elimination problems) but also cause emotional and mental disturbances, such as feelings of apathy, defenselessness, impulsiveness, blame, or guilt. Operating day-to-day with these emotions can negatively impact the choices you make and the consequences you have to deal with.
Sacral Chakra and Decision-Making Ability

Why you make the choices you make can stem from your core beliefs and feelings about your inherent power or lack thereof. Second chakra imbalances affect your mental and emotional perceptions and therefore your motivations for making life decisions. Implications include the following examples:

* Social Conditioning--If you feel apathetic about life, you may subconsciously choose to go along with mainstream society because that's what you're conditioned to. Your original creative power is blocked and physical problems can manifest.
* Coping Mechanism--Using food or sex as a means to cope can result in unhealthy and detrimental consequences. Addictive tendencies are a major aspect of sacral chakra imbalances.
* Pleasure Principle--Sigmund Freud described the id as part of your personality that seeks pleasure and satisfaction. With too much id or sacral energy, you may seek immediate gratification and not think about the costs of your choices.
* External Circumstances--With reduced second chakra energy, you may blame other people or situations for where you are in life and put yourself in the role of the victim.

Balancing the Sacral Chakra

Techniques to cleanse and balance chakras can help increase the flow of positive energy through your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Regarding the sacral chakra, Louise Pool states, "If this chakra is functioning well, you will experience enriched creativity, enhanced emotional gratification and courage, sexual vitality and positive self-esteem."

Living a balanced or imbalanced life reflects the content of the energy within your chakras. By gaining awareness of the reasons behind the choices you make, you can break down the fears, illusions, and excuses and restore balance to your sacral energy center.

okay, so it a matter of balancing the chakras or releasing excess energies? is it enough to wear colors, in efforts to balance, or perform specific moves (such as hatha yoga), in efforts to release tension, or pent energy?
