If anyone could share anything on this, it would be most appreciated. Eye exercises, books on the topic, articles...

I know there is a book on Linda's recommended books' list in Star Signs, but I haven't been able to find a copy of it so far.

If there are posts related to this topic here, I would love any help on how to retrieve them, too.

Thank you!

i think he was named DR BATES, the book has been around forever. the first thing he says is if you want to see without glasses you have to take them off...there are exercises, recipes rich in helpful nutrients for the eyes

its called "better eyesight without glasses" believe it or not! have you looked in the library? probably the librarian could locate one for you for transfer at the very least.

Gosh I would sell my Mother for one day without glasses or contacts (not really sell her, deed and all, but some sort of an arrangement, lol.)

I've suffered from migraines from my sight problems for 18 years now.

My left eye is 20/2000! But it is awful to take your glasses off and sit there seeing virtually nothing. It is boring and a bit scary, especially if you get up and walk. I don't want to walk into walls if I don't have to!

my eyes are not that bad. started needing glasses in grade school to see the blackboard, and to watch tv...i was lucky to have a great eye doctor who warned me

a) not to wear them for other things i didn't need them for and
b) to take them off and look as far away at treetops or whatever greenery i could find and rest them

they progressed a little till i was about 18 and never got any worse. i think contacts help because they bring the focus closer than glasses, so the eye itself is not distorted by the aid...

a few years ago my grandson broke the earpieces of my glasses. i taped them to a drugstore pair of very pale shades and carried on, then one day the earpiece on the shades broke and i had to drive home without any help. after that i practiced driving without them at first just in the daytime.

during that year my eyesight improved to the point where i needed a new prescription...

of course a lot of computer use can badly affect your eyes too. if you're half blind maybe doing the exercises first for awhile and boosting your eye-nutrition would be wiser than taking them off completely! but as often as you can, try leaving them off.

Thank you for all the comments, they are an inspiration. I hope I could gradually improve my sight like you, katatonic.

It most certainly is. After getting into grad school, I have to work on a laptop all the time and it has taken its toll. My eye doctor almost scared me during the last check up!

I am sure eye exercises and the right nutrition would make a difference, though. Thank you again!

I found this book, this morning: http://www.amazon.com/Relearning-See-Improve-Eyesight-Naturally/dp/1556433417/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251795451&sr=8-1

My mother read the book by bates, years ago ~ I wish that I'd stuck with the exercises when I first tried them.

teasel, thank you for all the information! One of my teachers also uses the first link from the second post of yours, hehe. And I have the call number of Dr. Bates' book in my uni library, will get it tomorrow and start with it first.

I am sure if you want to, you can continue with the exercises. Come on, we can motivate each other!
