I've been doing this for close to 15 years now & only use a razor in cases of emergency when I'm pressed for time. It is the most favoured of all techniques & I've tried practically everything out there. Of late however, I'm tackling the issue of ingrown hair. I find it doesn't occur everywhere (I have my entire body waxed) but my legs particularly are getting to be a pain.
