I have a very good friend named Laura who has a life threatening illness and has had it since she was an infant. She has suffered horrific sexual abuse for seventeen years, physical neglect (causing the onset of her illness to increase), an eating disorder and a host of other maladies. She has enlisted mys-elf and my other friend to be witnesses in her struggle and to document her journey through her illness. She does not know what the future holds and she wants us to photograph her through all her different stages of treatment. From getting chemotherapy, to her breathing treatments, to her crying, to her laughing, everything. I am going to write for her, too - poems and of the like. I have a poem bubbling and gurgling within me but I haven't yet been able to access it. My heart is achingly sad for my friend Laura, for the amount of pain she goes through every day, for her past, for her present - she has NO support from her family, in fact, her mother is part of the problem. Anyway, why am I posting this here? Because I wanted to ask if you all could send some healing light to her and this project we are doing. Every day I am so afraid that she will die too soon and every night I ask the sky why does she'd have to go through this. What kind of *reason* or *plan* could this be? She is THE strongest woman I have ever met. Even through it all, she retains her sense of humor and love of life. She is a wonder. May we all have her strength and determination. Thank you.

YES, YES, YES...Love and Light to your friend Laura...Also the 'light of understanding and knowledge' to you to find out why. When you do find out, please let us know... Also, Grey is right...lots of light to you too for strength and endurance.

Thanks for asking, Randall. My poem for her hasn't been written yet, but the project is going well - the pictoral journey of her illness. Laura is still the same, sick taking chemo...  I thank you for your concern Love

Ah  , sweet soul, thank you for asking. She's still dealing with a lot, but she's able to do her nebulizers more (breathing treatments) which was becoming a problem since she was constantly sick from the chemo. There is the bad news that they have to increase her steroids and that is frustrating because that is what the chemo is supposed to HELP with and she thinks she's taking the chemo for nothing... it's so hard.... She, my other friend Lauren and I are taking a road trip over my birthday to the Mayo Clinic for her appointments there. Lauren and I will be camera-ready to take pictures for our project. We get to stay in a hotel room that night with a pool so that's nice. I'm actually looking forward to the trip. Emotionally, she's dealing with a lot in therapy but as she said, she doesn't know how much time on this Earth she has so her emotional healing has accelerated.
