Hi there,
As I have said in the subject I would really like to know for certain if, to achieve physical immortality completely, you need to achieve fruitarianism/breatharianism first? I am currently a vegetarian and I was wondering if this is enough (not that I wouldn't consider aiming to achieve fruitarianism/breatharianism). The other thing I have a question about is whether eating plants/vegetables is taking life in a way that would inhibit immortality? I know this maybe sounds like a silly question but as it has been recognised that we should not take life in order to sustain our own lives and certainly not if we are wanting to begin the path towards immortality, but is eating plants/vegetables in fact the same as eating animals for food? Would really appreciate some feed back on this and hopefully some clarification. Thank you in advance

It really depends on one's beliefs

In some Native American cultures, it's fine to eat animals as long as you show gratitude and thanks to them.

In Inuit Culture, The Sea/Ocean/Underworld Goddess Sedna was believed to provide sea/ocean animals like seals, walruses to the Inuits as food.

the whole eating thing is very highly debatable subject, and I try to stay away from it

what's right and what's wrong is a constant debate among people on our planet

I was reading that the New Zealand Maori's traditional diet was a hunter-gathering diet that included birds and seafood.

Yes that's true what you say about the NZ Maori. They were also Cannibals as well. Thank you for your thoughts. Whilst I do believe totally in vegetarianism and not eating meat, I do agree with what you say about it being dependent on peoples beliefs and that right and wrong is a matter of perception to an extent.

Immortality is a very personal belief system. I believe one can be immortal and eat meat. Or smoke. Or drink. The not taking life to sustain your own is more related to spiritual protection. The more you respect life, the more you will be protected from harm--if you choose to believe so by invoking protection. Fruit is meant to be eaten without destroying the plant, so it is the highest form of food, causing the least amount of harm.

That's true, but also dairy products when obtained without harm/ lack of consideration for the animal are also obtained without destroying life. So could it be said that these two foods are equal?

Welcome, Unicorn Lady.

I feel that what I've come to realize is that...no-one really seems to know....and those that do claim to "know"....don't.

I would like to find out whether stories of Yogis obtaining immortality have any truth in them, and also if it is true that there are people in the world who can live on sunlight.

I wish there was a way to know if people such as he are telling the truth or not. It is difficult in my climate to sungaze due to capricious weather and regular spells of heavy clouding.

As for fruit, it contains sugar, and according to a documentary my fiance saw, should only be consumed in small amounts. All types of sugar (even honey) are said to be toxic to the body. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

I tried being vegan for a year and suffered with digestive problems and then found out soya (except for tempeh which has been fermented a long time) contains enzyme inhibitors. All types of seeds contain them so if consumed it is best not to over do it.

I am bothered by the fact that we live in a reality where life feeds upon life.

However, unless the entire eco system were to change, I'm not sure that there is anything I can do about it....so for now I just accept it and try to make ethical choices when shopping when available.

I am always searching for more answers though, because the eco system is one of the things that has always concerned me deeply regarding the nature of this reality.

Hi Unicorn Lady

May i suggest you read "the rainbow diet" by gabriel cousens.

There are people whom live a very good life and don't eat at all. They simply breathe! They might be considered the healthiest seeing as their would be no parasites in their bodies, which (it could be said) cause all disease.
