" No it's good for you, say scientists .. "

comment made on the radio ..

used to be a time when a person approaching on the street talking to themselves .. would be seen as mad ..
these days it's a person with an expensive mobile phone ..

i agree, it is perfectly good for you! and the mobile headpiece phenomenon is hilarious. nowadays every other person on the street is talking out loud to themselves like a deranged person...and i suspect it causes derangement for people in general to have all that extra babel going on all the time! it was more than enough that there are cars everywhere, radios blasting, then the machinery on the streets, flashing signs,

sometimes i would really opt to reincarnate in the 16th century...

" Jeremy discusses the Commonwealth Games, we look at unsightly wheelie bins on your street, we talk about the X-Factor contestant with a sleazy past and finally we find out why talking to yourself is good for you "

it's listen again for 7 days ..
the 'talking-to-yourself' bit .. is the final half hour of the show
( it's a daily phone in and talk current affairs slot .. 2 hours )
so if the 'player' can fast forward to the last 30 min ..
( every subject is on for 30 min normaly )
'unsightly wheelie bins' can be missed out ..
( speculating .. no l'isten-again' compatibilty here just yet )

were some very interesting points made by a psychologist ..

When my ex and I were dating I would catch him talking to himself.
He would be outside walking around just talking.. waving his hands around with intent looks on his face...
My mom saw this once and gave me a very worried look...lol

basically it is a metaphor for our times that what was once considered a sign of insanity is now completely normal...

I talk to myself a LOT and enjoy it more than talking to people as I can carry on several conversations with me at the same time without having to explain it....did I mention I was psychotic and had multiple personalities to the boot? Well, we are feeling better now
