Thanks Ami Anne!

I am reading thread, and will start practicing it. I did a course around 10 years ago and then forget to practice it.

This is an old thread. Which one video would you recommend for beginners learning kundalini yoga? They made so many videos already. Are there any others that are better? Timing is right as the kundalini asteroid Kaali 4227 is now in transit at 0 degrees Aries. New beginning for kundalini rising for all.

It is so easy to awaken kundaini right now it's actually kind of scary. I'm one of the people that believes the 1000% jump in bipolar disorder, the new emergence of chronic fatigue syndrome and possibly fibromyalgia are related to kundalini activations. I am one of the people that believes kundalini activations will happen to everyone sooner or later on this planet. I had active kundalini for years before I started feeling the pulsing energy up my spine, and even then I didn't know how dangerous it was or what effect it was having on my life..

For anyone who is worried, mediation makes kundalini worse and can activate it. Hatha yoga is designed to activate kundalini as is kundalini yoga, and many other positions utilized in other branches of yoga can do the same however the yoga is not designed around it. Here are some symptoms.. http://www.elcollie.com/st/symptoms.html

Glad you brought.this up
My awakening came through a soulmate his eyes. But it was overwhelming for me at first and I went through a very deep and dark depression, but I was meant to go through this it was not easy ( death and rebirth) there was a lot of pain that needed to come to the surface and be released. I had help from the angels, masters, guides and my soulmates. The kundalini energy feels great at first it is like a rush but the pain is there as well. I got through with searching for truth and lots of exercise and healthy eating. I did find truth in my life and it was not pretty, others around me think I am mental ill. But that is not the case they are just refusing to open eyes and see. They are so used to looking with the eyes of their ego mentality that they don't step out of the black box they have put themselves in and look from a new perspective. When going through the death I cried everyday for months not knowing the reason but feeling the pain and after a while it released and got better. This was very cleansing like the story of the pheonix rising.
The kundalini energy surging through your body may feel amazingly good but it is overwhelming and your mind and body may not know his to deal with it. I was shaking and my head felt like mind was swirling, I could not stay still, no sleep because it was pure adrenaline overdrive After this stopped the pain set in and I was forced to face the truth on not just a soul level but also a physical one.

As far as the spiritual community and medical community are concerned they should work together on this and shop slapping a label on people as crazy, mentaly ill. There are so many spiritually awakened people out there ( like me) who have had to deal with this crap. The word Psychology ( study of mind) comes from the root word Psyche ( the soul, spirit ) but the truth is the soul and the mind are connected. I truly believe that psychologists, psychiatrists any kind of doctor need to be aware of who the two things go hand in hand and stop mislabeling people and doing more harm than good ( just my 2 cents).

Vesta, & everybody... interesting!

I found a very interesting book on the effects blocked kundalini energy. Talks about astrology and bringing it into the medical field (subtle energy).

Liquid Light of Sex: Kundalini, Astrology, and the Key Life Transitions.

by Barbara Hand Clow (c)1991,1996,2001
(astrologer, spiritual teacher)

Publisher InnerTraditions, Bear&Company (Vermont, USA) www.InnerTraditions.com

URANUS opp URANUS (mid-life transit that lasts around 18 months, around 40-42 years old, is related to Kundalini Rising experiences). Chakras, blockages, and her recommendations with clients.

Hi Lucia... Buy the book. Her counsel is worth it even IF you never study astrology. I found that to be true of many of the older astrologer books.

In a nutshell...

After passing your mid 30s you begin a new phase of your life. It's got its challenges, but by the time you are through (after Chiron Return), some people course-correct, and step into a new world.

In retrospect, I saw the decade of my 40s as a hallway or corridor INTO another phase of life that was different in its own way.

You'll begin a series of mid-life transits. Pluto square Pluto, another Saturn Opposition (test). There should also be some sextiles and trines working with and for you too... so don't think there isn't the balance of some other kinds of cosmic supporting energy.

Widely speaking, Master Astrologer Clow says you must ground yourself through this. It will 'prepare' you for experiencing Kundalini rising. You MUST do the clearing work, the grounding exercises.

She is into Chakra work. Keep grounding your Earth Chakra, and allow energies of emotions to filter through your other chakras. Continue to Ground into the Earth.

If you do that, it will go better--- reminds me of when the midwife says 'stop pushing' when you very much WANT to just go for it. If you aren't prepared adequately, this can bring you some physical and mental-emotional-psychological challenges

If you have a body worker counselor, who can help process the physical part of emotions energy (chakra work too), then use one. Establish some relationships with alternative people. A lot of dross will clear from your system. The energies behind this series of transits is designed to DO that? -- so, it's normal, in that respect.

Keep it flowing... Keep IN your body. Keep good boundaries.
Also, dentistry might be important. Take good care of your teeth.

Reading BHC, she reported some people could experience this briefly as spots of psychosis activating. (She gives case examples, buy the book and read about them).

(I say) stay away from them 'medicating' you?, should you have those fleeting symptoms.

But if you do find yourself needing help, follow a qualified COMPETENT (minimalist??? LOL) doctor's advice.

Side-effects of meds can 'mimic' other psychiatric problems that you wouldn't have otherwise.. You could get trapped into the vortex of labelling, and being treated for a rat's nest of wrong-diagnoses-- errors, based off drug side-effects.

Stay Clean... Even avoid street drugs. I'd say EVEN those trendy mind-altering hallucinatory drugs they are calling 'medicine' now? They make people psychotic!, and you don't want those kinds of flashbacks happening to you outside your control... Stays in your fat, in your liver, your organs, and gets released at any time!...
(Especially right now with Neptune Pisces, and SN?? just don't. Addictions are extra seductive.)

... No. Stay grounded. Keep your Mind clear of altering substances. Have grounded counselors who know Consciousness and how it works.
.. Use the bodyworker counselors, energy workers first, if you can afford those.

You will be very thankful that you developed "discipline" during this time, and learned to funnel those energies naturally! Please DON'T rely on drugs to do that FOR you. It IS possible to channel energy and connect NATURALLY. It takes YOUR training and discipline???, but it's free-- You're not 'hooked' to some monster outside of you to 'get you there'....

You can be Free of Drugs, and High on GOD-energy instead!! *have to get GOD in there!!! *

(For me personally?, Praise and Worship Music, and giving myself WHOLLY to it, takes me places in the Spirit realms. I Connect that way... and the afterglow lasts, and resurges as I need it and move my Consciousness back to it.)

If you follow Christian practice?, know where intercessory prayer groups are. Even get involved. Be with those who can pray for you, especially for deliverance.

But... ugh, watch out for the 'nuts' there too. Some of these are ~iffyyyy??? You want people who ~REALLY Know the Lord, and know the different ways HOW to pray for you. I've seen people supported and prayed for through ordeals in their life, with counsel also.

... Argghgh. That's so hard, because the ones in their Right Minds, can be hard to find. There are lunatic-fringes among these kinds of groups. But you'll learn the difference?

It might be HARD to find people who are willing to keep you Spiritually Covered, while you are a Consciousness person?....
.. But I'm going to throw my Faith IN here for you right now, and Agree with you that if you search, that you will be supernaturally led to the right group of people. They ARE there, just a few needles to find in a haystack? ... I hope not. Not for you.

I pray for the Exceptional to happen on your behalf.
... Believing in God, Higher Power that Cares about you Unconditionally is a Key to weathering storms and adversities. (And you hold to that no matter WHAT befalls-- KEEP on Keeping on?) Faith will provide an anchor. Anchor of Hope.
... Learn about the Love of God, and GROUND yourself IN that Love.. This will take you through a LOT of Adversities. Also, reading the Book of Psalms, and Job.

When you don't know what to do?, you Stand. Stand in your integrity and submitted into the Care of that Love God has for you.

Walk solid on the earth, trusting. (oh! And I don't think God minds if you do Yoga either!! LMAO. God was the architect who designed your biology, and the way your energy-systems work. He's not just a god in a pew...

God is a Living Energy, and Spirit Moves through people to help them with their daily lives, even while they are not aware.

And as we help each other, we are The Heart and Hands extended in actions.

Faith, faith in a Higher Power, is proven to be an x-factor to getting people through sooo many hardships of life. In studies, people with faith fair (or fare?) better than folks who don't.

Getting back on-topic here---

LOADS of info on Chiron passages, AND Saturn.

Like I said, this is a good book to buy for a reference. She was a counselor AND an astrologer. (And involved in the more esoteric metaphysical spiritual world.)

Blessings, with Luck!! You Can Do This.

Thank you.

I'm 42 now, and my life was pretty much horrible when I was 8-11, then mostly good/up and down as a teen and through my twenties, and then my Saturn Return was like an exam that I passed with flying colors, and I was pretty happy in many ways through my thirties, looked young and radiant, on the brink of various successes.....

And then I had a series of rough experiences after I got pregnant and my Uranus opposition (with my natal Uranus opposite Chiron in a T-Square with my Venus) made things HORRIBLE again, kind of like those worst parts of my childhood in many ways. I posted an astrology thread asking for people's experirnces of Saturn Return ("quarter life crisis", sort of) versus Uranus Opposition (midlife crisis), but no one replied--so i'm glad to hear about this book.

I got very into alternative health practices during my Saturn return and through my thirties--yoga, bodywork--and I already had a regular meditation practice.

Physically I aged about twenty years between age 38 and 41....I'm not exaggerating. I literally looked 25 when I was thirty-eight, and now I look about 45, a few years older than my chronological age. I don't have the time, money or resources I used to have, but I still practice vinyasa yoga regularly, and occasionally take a kundalini class.

I still do not know why things got HORRIBLE during my Uranus opposition. I wish so much my daughter could have known the woman I was at 37. I was living as honestly and earnestly as I could and am still blindsided that my trust in my ex was misplaced. And that none of the work I had done or was doing to live conscientiously protected me.

In the kundalini classes, the idea isn't to bring on a kundalini rise--we do much more modest and short kriyas. I do think practicing some of the techniques without being grounded enough can whack some people out--i'm careful with my system that way.

I've always thought that my forties and fifties would be my best years--maybe they still will be.

Back to the topic--rambling here because I wanted to share all this with Mirage---I DID start practicing kundalini yoga just before things went south for me. When I first started, it got me really high! And then I got depressed, in a way I hadn't been since childhood, in connection to my ex. But then i did all sorts of traveling and meeting new people and new adventures and therapy and bodywork, and I was really happy......and then, Uranus opposition!!! And I felt like my life was ruined.

I don't think it was kundalini rise stuff....but I'll order the book!

I am really hesitant about psychiatric drugs for myself--I've never been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition or prescribed anything, but after things went bad my misery level alarmed me, and I didn't have the things I needed to heal.

(In my case, the things I needed were for someone who adored me to help take care of me and my baby until I was well....the financial resources to provide a bigger buffer from my ex, so that when he was caring for our daughter it was ONLY for her sake, not because I felt I couldn't afford a babysitter and having him "help" me by doing part of his share was the only way I would get to take a shower.....time and money for a good therapist)... When I lost my mother, it wasn't just losing my mother, it was losing the ONLY person I was close to who had ever had a child. My friends were all childless. the info that my ex was a liar and betrayer came within months of my mother's death. And my kid is super-difficult, except when she isn't! Lol, I wonder where she got that!)

ANYWAY, I think I've never had super-stable emotional health, but I had the freedom and resources to take care of myself that way using natural approaches and lifestyle choices--like saying NO to things that made me feel trapped or bad. But once I got into my Uranus opposition situation, I REALLY understood why so many people turn to meds (beyond the big Pharma/insurance company bs in this country, don't get me started)......because if you have people to care for, say, ailing parents or young children, and no one to help you, you often just aren't in a situation where you can take sweaty vinyasa yoga class six days a week, go visit temples in the Himalayas, sleep until noon every day and go to the movies alone, breaking your all-organic diet with the treat of candy and popcorn, get an Ayurvedic massage, and then go out to a really good party.

Anyway, i haven't tried the drugs. But I worry that the damage from leaving my emotional health problems untreated for so long will make it harder to heal. I read that having suicidal thoughts programs your brain to have more suicidal thoughts.

But on the other hand, I think I'm probably through the worst of it--now well enough to start getting better! my yoga and meditation practices probably helped me survive through it--it's kind of like with a physical injury, a car accident or something. It takes time to get past the shock.

One thing I like about kundalini yoga in a class setting is the people I meet in there. Most people there are up for working consciously to raise their vibe.

Lucia ... I listened to a lecture the other day, and thought of you.

It might be a bit expensive to go to a workshop? ... but you might want to explore what's called "Diamond Astrology."

You might have arrived at the special age they describe, where you're starting a whole new type of rebirthing and getting into your true purpose in life. Find your Essential Core, then Create from that place. Might give you some cool insights on your daughter, and your relationship to her, too.

Recently found out Kundalini Yoga is actually the only type made for normal every day people, with kids and jobs. Apparently all other types of yoga was for people living the renunciate life way out alone in the mountains or forest or whatever. Got me like what in the f... are we all doing ashtanga, hatha, iyengar for then? lol

I was doing hatha and I changed to kundalini. I felt it had a more.powerfull effect on me, but I left it after some time because I felt it was making me too emotional.

I was.hipersensitive and crying for no reason and I felt I couldnt handle it.

Probably it was one of the primary stages or raising the kundalini.
I wanna try it again when I feel stronger.
