Hi Ami,

I am just starting to learn and be interested in Kundalini as it has come up many times for me recently, especially since I've noticed myself highlighting anything to do with the Kundalini in my Esoteric study books... I'm really starting understand what it is and how to work with it.

So yes count me in! Please share what you know.

“It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. She's not just looking at it; she's interacting with it…I’m seeing how the act of relating to a flower appears to be so simple. Yet, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to make such a “simple” act important. Now, the lotus is floating away.”

This is my background with Kundalini Yoga.
I took a Hatha yoga class, recently .
She discussed Kundalini Yoga, a little.
I bought Anna Brett and Ravi Singh Kundalini Yoga CD's(most of them lol)
I have been doing it for a year and a half.
I learned the yoga postures from the CD's better than from the class cuz you can get "closer" to the instructor i.e the CD, obviously lol

Breathing is what distinguishes K yoga from Hatha yoga.
The most important part of K yoga ,for me , was the dog pant breath.
This increases oxygen.
Oxygen can heal all sorts of problems.
The first thing to do is learn this breath.

Pant like a dog with your tongue hanging out
Feel your lower abdominal muscles move.
Get used to this .

Then, close your mouth. Keep the same breath up.
It should be so effortless that you could continue ,forever.

I have built it up to 15 minutes, now.

I've got it so far: Pant like a dog, open mouth and be aware of lower abdominal muscles...

Cool PS A plus so far

OK, now, close your mouth and do it. Relax. You should feel like you could do it forever in an effortless way.
When you feel comfortable like that, you have it down.
Breath MAKES Kundalini Yoga. Postures are secondary.

Also, you do realize kundalini is incredibly dangerous right? People commit suicide because they cannot comprehend living with the kundalini and that many think about it. Very few people are ready to handle a full blown awakening and your teacher and her predecessors are irresponsible for teaching it to you without extreme warning. It is not some magic thing that will heal you of all ailments. It is a spiritual complex that will blow all of your blockages out of proportion until you are forced to see the light and transmute them, and only then you will be healed of all ailments. Forget everything you know, love and care about in your lifestyle. Kundalini and spirituality will tear it up, and destroy it, and give you only what you need to advance. She is not a kind mistress in worldly affairs.

Listing the study..
In an investigation concerning the kundalini process in 76 people, it was shown that 42 of them had never been informed by their yoga and meditation teachers about the existence of Kundalini. It also showed that their teachers - in most cases - were not able to give any help whatsoever.

- A Kundalini arousal never develops the same way in two different individuals, which is mirrored in the different diagnoses they receive, Else Johansen continues.
- 8 got to know they were psychotic, 8 received the diagnosis schizophrenia, borderline psychosis, 7 anxiety neurosis, 3 manic-depressive, 2 hypochondriac, and 2 inflammation of the brain.
- 32 of the investigated people had been taken into psychiatric care, 3 in a neurological ward. 12 could manage with help from the outpatient department; many of these periodically received sick pay. 24 now get disability pension.
- There is a "gap of understanding" between patients and doctors, Else Johansen points out. The patients feel that they - while sitting in the waiting room - know the correct diagnosis: Kundalini arousal, but when they come in to the doctor, they have to shift their world picture to the doctors' - and there the power of Kundalini does not exist.
- 17 of the surveyed persons admit that they have had thoughts of suicide, since it has felt impossible for them to live with an active Kundalini. One has committed suicide. In an interview a short time before he died he said: "The times when I was in hospital, I had something like a red-hot iron bar in my back, and my head felt like it was burning up." In his case, the kundalini arousal happened due to unhappy love.

Speaking from experience.. I nearly had to go on disability because I was so messed up by the kundalini process. You are endangering the lives of the people here..

Thanks Mochai- I was just reading the very same thing in my current books.

Was about to post this similar warning, but you have already taken the role to explain the potential hazards if one is not ready to awaken the kundalini- as it travels up the spine some would not have the mental tools necessary to cope with such.

I think between a highly advanced master and student is best as a life long journey- as the karma also rests with the "teacher".

The reason I say this now- is because I have since done more research within myself and know that breath postures ect... really do have an incredible affect and kundalini is real, and beyond words, (i have not began any process yet- many things need to be covered first and I am NOWHERE near ready!!!!)

I can post what should be covered first, in general terms, (ah may take a few decades!- just to show the magnitiued of personal transformation and what correct process that has to be obtained first- most will feel not able to meet those requirements of purity, and therefor will never believe they could undergo kundalini awakening- and rightly so! Unless one knows exactly what he is doing with accurate instruction)

Love!

Sunchild, I'm glad you were going to say something.

It is so easy to awaken kundaini right now it's actually kind of scary. I'm one of the people that believes the 1000% jump in bipolar disorder, the new emergence of chronic fatigue syndrome and possibly fibromyalgia are related to kundalini activations. I am one of the people that believes kundalini activations will happen to everyone sooner or later on this planet. I had active kundalini for years before I started feeling the pulsing energy up my spine, and even then I didn't know how dangerous it was or what effect it was having on my life..

For anyone who is worried, mediation makes kundalini worse and can activate it. Hatha yoga is designed to activate kundalini as is kundalini yoga, and many other positions utilized in other branches of yoga can do the same however the yoga is not designed around it. Here are some symptoms.. http://www.elcollie.com/st/symptoms.html

My experience is I have been doing it for 2 years . I never awakened Kundalini ,in any dangerous way, anyway.
I just got more energy , relaxation, really good skin tone ,muscles got stronger and things along this line.
I used to be afraid of the Kundalini rising but I am not ,now.
I trust God that it will rise if it needs to and I will be OK with what happens.
If not, I will post from the other side

Thank you 12th!

If anyone is a chicken, it is I. I studied the sources that said Kundalini was dangerous and the others that said it was not. I started slowly and I have been doing it for years.

I can do the dog pant breath for about 25 minutes without stopping.

I LOVE Kundalini Yoga.It rocks
