I will be 50 in March.

I have spent the last few weeks researching health, both mental and physical, and spiritual...

I have had some health issues that I really need to address inorder to not succomb to an early departure.

And I want to share what I have learned and what is working for me.

Being a RN, I have a knowledge base anyway, and having PTSD I have researched alot as to the chemical changes that this burden carries.

What I have discovered is that STRESS is a killer...stress in itself releases cortisol, a stress hormone and cortisol finds it's way to our abdomens (especially in women) and plants itself there, thus ever increasing the fat.

A HUGE factor to me loosing weight and gaining health has been stress relief.

Sure, we all have alot of stress and it will not go away, but finding a way to keep our bodies from being compromised is a great key.

For me exercise, regular walking, healthy eating habits, little alcohol, and correcting my brain chemistry with medications has worked for me. Meditations and a deep spiritual practice is paramount!

My point is, find a regimen that works for you, as an individual. Cover all the bases, psycholgical, physical, spiritual.

Health and a perfect weight is all of our birthrights...we just tend to get off the path at times.

Thanks for reading!

Oh my yes so very true!
If I am happy the weight drops magically often without dieting.
When stressed I will gain like crazy even oddly whilst dieting.
Stress is a big big big factor indeed!

And yes, it does go to the belly more than anywhere else. Hence my scary lower belly/pannicula, the drapping loose skin apron of which even once thin, will require surgery to get rid of.
I will be 57 in November.
