Ok, here are symptoms:1) 3 weeks of constant bloating, burping (spontaneous and unrelated to time of day and food consumed), and terrible heartburn (as in the kind that wakes you up out of a sound sleep) 2) Upset stomach and loose bowels 3) Changes in appetite 4) Change in taste of food (usual foods taste weird and some foods taste super bland and need extra salt) 5) Bouts of extreme fatigue and total lack of energy/enthusiasm 6) Inability to stay asleep some nights, and general "light" sleep and not restful 7) Strange and clearly memorable dreams that feel real upon waking 8) Sharp mid-pelvic pain for a full day that was strong enough to make me cry when the intensity amped up, and did NOT feel like menstrual cramps 9) Worsened allergies 10) Lighter "late" period that stopped and started (and after three urine and one blood test, I AM NOT pregnant) I am one miserable chica, and I just need this "fog" and discomfort to set better, and I want my energy back Any suggestions would be appreciated! yes, i believe so! many people can even have the symptoms and not test positive for celiac. you might want to look up celiac and the symptoms.I believe the gluten just builds up causing a disruption in the health that can manifest in many ways. your symptoms sound like it could be gluten related. its worth a try! there is a yummy gluten free bread called 'ezekial'. other sprouted breads are quite good- they aren't french baguettes but, if you like sandwiches that's a good choice. there are so many gluten free blogs out there. so, you might want to check that out and get inspired. there is a blog called elana's pantry and she has many great food ideas that are fun AND tasty for those who aren't gluten free that might be living with you ( children, husbands etc) im not 100% gluten free however i have had strange attacks - terrible stomach cramps that had me convinced I had an ulcer, vertigo, skin disorders ( blister like acne ) stomach growling... now i keep my gluten intake to a minimum and ive had no digestive or skin issues. i hope you feel better! I've wondered about gluten intolerance for myself, but my stomach issues (which worsened over the past two years), don't come with some of the main offenders - unless I have my information wrong. You might want to look up Gluten-Free Girl's blog, and her books. I had them out of the library in March, and had to stop reading, because she was making me hungry for all sorts of food we can rarely afford. I hope you find something that helps you. there's something right at the edge of my mind there, but I'm not getting it; maybe it will come to me later on. I remember when I started to feel very, very thirsty, and my mother was concerned about diabetes, but that's only happened twice. I get the bloating, and I throw up most (but not all) food. I had three good days in which I barely consumed anything, but managed to keep down one glass of green smoothie blended up with Alive powder. Since that coincided with my lift in mood, I'm wondering if that's part of the key to my low moods: I'm not getting nearly enough nutrients. I know someone from another site, who had ovarian cysts. She was in terrible pain, and ended up at the ER. IP: Logged |

im not a medical expert or anything but your symptoms do sound familiar, i think it could be something you caught (like a weird virus or something) i mean all the symptoms are related and are probably from the same source.) 3 weeks of constant bloating, burping (spontaneous and unrelated to time of day and food consumed), and terrible heartburn (as in the kind that wakes you up out of a sound sleep) 2) Upset stomach and loose bowels 3) Changes in appetite 4) Change in taste of food (usual foods taste weird and some foods taste super bland and need extra salt) --- all these could be from a stomach virus 5) Bouts of extreme fatigue and total lack of energy/enthusiasm -most probab. cause of the loose bowls, can be very exausting 6) Inability to stay asleep some nights, and general "light" sleep and not restful 7) Strange and clearly memorable dreams that feel real upon waking - when you are too tired or cant sleep right you have weird dreams, they come from discomfort or so i heard ) Sharp mid-pelvic pain for a full day that was strong enough to make me cry when the intensity amped up, and did NOT feel like menstrual cramps 9) Worsened allergies 10) Lighter "late" period that stopped and started (and after three urine and one blood test, [b]I AM NOT pregnant the pains could be a virus, allergies as well the fact that you didnt get your period yet is probably because of the stress/excitment of the past situation .. my advice, take a few days off, sleep all day, give your digestive system a break (eat only baked potattoos or plain rice) only for a couple of days and see how you feel.. Most of the symptoms have let up except the sleep and fatigue issues...and the eclipse or whatever else is going on with me has severely interrupted my sleep for thee nights now.I am extremely stressed, but I thought I was handling it as well as I could but this exhaustion is making me nuts... I would appreciate some restful thoughts and a return to my natural sleep/wake rhythms IP: Logged |

Candida Yeast infection is another possible culprit. Did you change anything in your diet? How did the symptoms stop? And yes the eclipses (esp. the lunar one for me) are not the best times for restful sleep. I noticed that these days I need MORE sleep than my usual 7-8hrs. IP: Logged |

I think it may be hiatal hernia. This can happen during stress when one valve does not close as it should and the food does not stay in right. Not just that, you feel lousy ------------------ Want a peek in to my journal? http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Yeah, Gastroesophageal reflux disease is also related to hiatal hernia.

You could have H pylori. It's a bacteria that makes itself comfy in the lining of your stomach. It's a pretty resistant bacteria that can live in your stomach for years without showing symptoms. It's able to survive the acids and other good bacteria in your stomach that try to battle it. 2/3 of the worlds population, just under 5 billion people carry H pylori. Many as you might presume don't know it. It's most present in third world countries. However it's very common in the US and Europe. It can be spread through contaminated food or water and from living in close proximity with someone who has it. Symptoms: Gastritis Ache or burning in abdomen Nausea Vomiting Loss of Petite Burbing Bloating Weight Loss Fatigue Ulcers You can have the bacteria treated and eradicated through a triply therapy or quadruple therapy antibiotic treatment that is pretty awful. It lasts 14 days. Half of my family had H pylori including myself. We travel a lot and spend considerable amounts of time in Africa. We all went through the horrifying treatment to have it eradicated. It's utterly horrible and it takes a while for your stomach to heal from the nightmare of the antibiotics which destroy the good and bad bacteria in your stomach leaving your stomach lining inflamed. H pylori has been connected to gastric cancer so at your next doctor's appointment request a blood test for h pylori just to be safe. It's a silent bugger, and hard to diagnose therefore it's best to just get a blood test or breathe test to check if it's in your system. IP: Logged |

Interesting. A family friend has a hernia, and she wondered if I might have one, due to my vomiting issue. IP: Logged |

Look into Fibromyalgia too. My Lexigram and links on it. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/001858.html Also IBS. And yes, could be allergies, intolerances, bacteria, ulcers, hiatal hernia, gastric reflux. Sigh. Good luck. {{{hugs}}} IP: Logged |

I agree, I've just been diagnosed with this. NSaids have caused stomach bleeding, anemia, vomiting, massive nausea, migraine, extreme flatulence... ------------------ I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.” IP: Logged |

It's easy enough to eliminate, so just try it... the fatigue sounds like anemnia, so go to your GP and get a blood test, weight loss and runs and fatigure sounds to me like Celiacs disease. please do get tested asap ------------------ I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.” IP: Logged |

I'm trying this, thanks to my mother. I've been having trouble keeping most food and liquids down, but have managed to mostly keep this down when taken in apple juice (and it's practically all that I'm drinking). I'm on day three, so far, which means three capsules in the juice today, and four tomorrow, until I reach eight capsules. It's expensive, though; I don't know how we'll afford another bottle - especially since we had our dog to the vet last night - but if it works, it will be worth it.It's mainly a concentrated form of aloe vera - I told my mother I wouldn't have tried it if I'd known how expensive it was, but she insisted. I'll let you know if it works. IP: Logged |

teasel,Did your digestive enzyme/aloe thing help? I am back to having gas, but this time, feeling nauseous and lightheaded, with dull ache in forehead and fatigue. Just want my body back, darn it, and I think I'll finally be calling my GP this week for that physical...Done being miserable, and done shifting symptoms... IP: Logged |
