GAHHHHHH! I've been having these horrible headaches lately.

It first started when I got a serious cold about a month ago. I got these horrible migraines, a fever, and I was so dizzy and lightheaded. I went to the ER and they found nothing wrong me and told me it was just a cold. They gave me a shot of this painkiller that they use for migraines. It made it about 80% better, but I still felt this weird tension in my head. Great.

Since then, however, I've had these daily headaches towards the end of the day. My neck feels like I have arthritis and the only way to relieve the pain even a little is if I lay my head down and push my palms up against the sides of my head.

I just don't know what to do anymore. I can't keep taking ibuprofen. My family thinks I'm being psychosomatic and that I just need to relax and not be on my computer so much.

Does anyone have any holistic approaches that I can take to stop these headaches? I'm at the end of my rope.

I think I'm going to get a Thai massage soon when I'm back in LA. They're like $35 and HEAVENLY.

I haven't thought about reflexology yet.

I may go to a chiropractor soon. Are they real doctors? Does my health insurance cover that stuff? Getting old is rough.

Hope you feel better LEXX.

Hope you are feeling a bit better, if not, please go back to the hospital, did they do tests on you? or just had a quick look at you?
Did they take your bloodpressure, bloods etc? If you are still in pain, don't be fobbed off.

@LEXX I hope things get better for you. You're such a wonderful person. You deserve the world and more.

@Tofu addict They did all sorts of blood tests... The ER doctor told me that there's no sign of infection and that all my blood etc is normal. I think my headaches a combination of not getting enough calories (I have a sensitive stomach, and I tend to not feel hunger...) and stress.

Usually headaches or migraines have to do with a mineral deficiency or dehydration or the combonation of the two.

Do chiropractors often help with headaches? Maybe acupuncturists can do that....

anyway....

May be a temp fix anyway, but if you research the root - if they are reoccuring, then you will learn that you body is crying out for something(s) most often and that's often where they stem from.

Many are magnesium deficient anyway and it cures many ails. So might be something you want to look into.

Hi hi! Thank you for the links, T! I might start taking vitamin supplements. I've been feeling better because I've been eating more regularly. I don't have an eating disorder, more like a disfunction lol. I forget to feed myself sometimes or I just don't feel hunger. It's very weird. I even have to take Prilosec for the next three weeks for gastritis. Not sure what causes it, but I've been working harder at eating more regularly.

I'll eventually go to a chiropractor. The headaches are gone, but my neck is still very sore. Oy vey. I need to take better care of myself. Too young for this stuff.
