That's quite a good score, Lexigrammer. I thought that yours would be high though, because you one of the most compassionate people I've ever known!Mine was on the low side, 2.22, hence the need for me to read this book! IP: Logged |

From the book:"What is this self inside us, this silent observer, Severe and speechless critic, who can terrorize us And urge us on to futile activity, And in the end, judge us still more severely For the errors into which his own reproaches drove us?" ~T.S. Eliot, The Elder Statesman

This looks like a good book Surprised by some of the answers here. Yin, I can't believe you're that hard on yourself! After seeing your fun taste in clothing, too. And listenstotrees, I thought from your screen name and posts that you would KNOW how cool you are! Love being Aries, I don't know you but I'm sorry to hear this. My scores: Self-Kindness: 2.40 Self-Judgment: 4.40 Common Humanity: 2.75 Isolation: 4.50 Mindfulness: 4.75 Over-Identification: 2.50 Overall score: 2.75 The higher mindfulness score is a recent development, and I owe it to Eckhart Tolle. I think the low self-kindness comes from my strict Catholic upbringing, where everything I did or said was somehow "wrong." My parents were great and didn't mean for me to handle the religion this way; it's just my own turn of mind, as a Cap sun, to take things very seriously. Thanks, listenstotrees.

Oh, I just like those clothes but am too afraid to wear them. Lots of things happened in my life in the past few years and let's say I'm in a recovery mode. Some days are better than others. Thank you for your kindness, Faith. IP: Logged |
